    spizzy's mediocre sketchbook experience

Hi everyone! My name's Genevieve, I'm 17 years old, and my parents aren't letting me go to art school. Though, looking at the stuff here makes me think that they probably have a point.

I just now remembered that I made an account here, so I figured that I ought to put it to good use.

    Hello, and welcome!

Based on this single painting alone, I'd say your parents are wrong.

Stuff I've been doing this month

    -stills studies (15 min each)
-getting used to conté with some figures from characterdesigns (0.002-15 min each depending on my level of frustration)
-posemaniacs fail #1 (30 sec each)
-WIP painting for class-- no references or underdrawing, both of which were probably very bad ideas

[strike]Up above is a masters study that I'm too lazy to finish.[/strike] NUH-UH, NOW IT'S A CAT I DREW WHEN I WAS 6 CUZ I WANNA HAVE A COOL THUMBNAIL LIKE THE COOOOL KIDS

WHY DOESN'T THE STRIKE TAG WORK ON THIS FORUM

-masters study is the last one in this post.

some other tat I dug up:

-a crap redoing of an even more crap tegaki doodle I did a few months ago. Anatomy was kind of a shot in the dark. Arm looks really fucked up and I am never putting that many light sources in a single drawing ever again.
-portrait from photo ref. Screwed up on the ear, it was rather blurry in the photo.
    -self-portrait from photo ref
-sushi scribble-drawing-thing from photo ref. Class was slow that day.
-perpetually WIP painting of a tree from late last year, no refs. I think it took about an hour.
-a bird I once saw in a National Geographic, from last year
-study of a glass pitcher, from last year
-drawing of my eye, from last year. Camera fails at photographing shiny graphite.

-I like TF2 but don't play the game. Does this make me a tool?

-posemaniacs fail #2. First two are 30 sec, last three 60 sec.
-first-ever go at watercolors... it went as you would expect.

Didn't get much time to draw this week since I've been cramming for all my AP tests.

-WIP pic of my ugly mug. The hand and eyes have been giving me some trouble. EDIT: OH FUCK ME I JUST CLOSED IT WITHOUT SAVING
-speedpaint of this bowl of strawberries on my desk. It got hard to finish after I found that actually eating the strawberries was far more satisfying. 25-30 min.
-some anatomy drawings I don't think I learned anything from
-an old pastel still life I dug up

ohh, I been a baaaad, baaaad updater. AP testing and all that. Don't have much to show for it, either, unless you want to see mindless doodles in between my physics notes.

-yeah, so did some extra quick observational sketches at school. Obviously missed the point on the first one and ended up drawing bad pseudo-caricatures of everyone instead.

School's out! Time to plan how best to piss my whole summer away on the internet.

-loomis galore! Will probably start some Bridgman once I get more solid with these.
