Well, these are very interesting. I particularly like the first Red Death piece and the Yellow Blob Monster.

The knights look pretty good. Are those dead face people a whole family? (the same short film?)
I like them all, similar but each with its own characteristic.

Hi, thanks for the comments people, really appreciate it.

Smirt, the red death drawings are all concepts for one character, and the knights are for the same film. Love your work by the way.

Hopefully I'l have some more to put up soon.

I really like the first image, the big rolls of flab and that nasty triangular mouth. Really nicely designed.

wow, i love the goblin piece. That creature looks truly creepy, great design. The girl in the background looks really good, i'd swear it was a photograph. awesome piece man!

Thanks Rivenis, really glad you like it. I used photo reference for the girl, mainly so that I could give the image a photographic quality in terms of the depth and focus of the image.
The creature is inspired by a goblin shark, but I didn't use any photo ref for that, just memory and imagination.

    Thanks again,

    Max

I am absolutely in love with that goblin piece. The goblin is actually quite frightening which most of the time I see goblins depicted as being cute or just plain ugly. Your other monsters are really well done as well and actually disturb me which is difficult to do. But perhaps it's because I find large, round empty eyes and minimal facial features to be disturbing. Your textures are also extremely well done. I could almost reach out and touch that tree bark!

Is the girl in the background of the goblin picture part of a photograph? Looking at some of your other pieces of the knights, I have to second guess.

Hi AveAlexii, thanks very much, I'm glad you like it. I'm going to do a series of my version of fairy tale creatures, done in a similar style to the goblin. You've further encouraged me with your comment, thanks.

Everything is painted, I used a photo for reference when painting the girl, and used the colour picker to get the colours exact, used the airbrush to paint it, and then applied some lens blur. The film grain I added over the image helps to smooth everything out and hides any edge marks from the brushes.

I think I'l have a go at a troll under a bridge next.

Thanks again for commenting, much appreciated.

Thanks Ragnj, it's all about adding tons of motion blur to everything

I really like what you've shared so far. The textures on the goblin look so real to the touch! (Not that I'd want to touch it, haha.) Your creepy designs have a lot of character to them. I look forward to your version of the fairy tale creatures.

Thanks coreanseoul, really glad you like it. The next fairy tale creature I'm going to do will be Jenny Greenteeth, should be fun.

I just re painted the girl completely, in a more painterly manner so that she integrates into the painting a bit more and has a little more detail. The goblin image has been updated.

Hi, here's a painting I just finished. It's a troll, following on from the goblin piece. I started out just doodling, and it turned into this. Painted in photoshop, took a few days.
I'd really like to get some feedback on all this, so if you have any comments, I'd like to hear them. Hope you enjoy it,

    Thanks for the comments chaps.

Klaw, thanks very much, I tried to make them look a little bit different and unique, and hopefully funny.

    vpoce, thanks a lot, I agree, I think it's the most amusing/sinister.

Holeinscalp, thanks, it's a concept for a short film I'm making, going to be doing more of those soon.

Thanks again for the comments, more on the way.
