A quick study i did in school today. Trying to improve my colors!
Here are some studies I did from a portrait drawing book today, trying to overcome my greatest obstacle, portraits!
ahh, planar analysis ~~! i love it. (:
Great work so far, I like your approach to studying the facial features, never tried it myself maybe i should give it a shot.
Yesh, yesh. Excellent.
ripped hosiery: Thanks!
Icedearth15876: Thanks dude. Its definitly worth giving a try!
Chill: myes myes.
Did another study today, with some reference. The nose part was really tricky. Tomorrow its mouth and tip of the nose
F-man: Thanks dude, doing studies is great! Ill post some environments later on after the schoolproject is done.
This is some sketches of a tileset from a game me and 13 classmates are working on. Ill continue to post some more concepts the next couple of days. I hope you like it! Comments and critique is most welcomed!
I started doing some linework for another study today, trying to understand feminine portraits (or portraits in general lol). Me and some classmates were at a lecture today with a levelartist from DICE who talked about the development of Battlefield: Bad Company 2; inspiring stuff!
Nice Studies. I like the way you break everything down, very technical. The rendering on the manikin is turning out really well. The only thing I can see is that the neck might be a little long. Keep posting.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
SKETCH BOOK in need of some comments and critiques please.
Bolo: Thanks for stopping by! Yeah the neck is really long. Some of my irl friends have commented on this too, I overlayed the referencepick and it is actually that long. Fucked up beuty ideals we have today I must say
So after doing these studies I though i'd try doing a portrait from imagination so here goes nothing. 1 hour without reference, except for the eyebrows.
The other study got scrapped today, It's proportions were miles off those on the reference pick lol.
Me and some friends are doing some weekendgrind. Right now im doing hands, alot of em lol. Doing it for the spartan camp here on ca. 22 Here, got 10 more on a sheet im still working on, posting them tomorrow
The pic at the far bottom contains the first ones.
your studies up top are from Giovanni Civardi, right?? I have that book.. great book Nice Work
PenDiablo: Thanks! I did a couple of studies from that book, its great!
LAL: Thank you! More studies coming
So I continued doing some heads today, came home late from school so I only had time for 5. These are from imagination, and they pretty much look like crap lol. But the measurements should be correct. Doing more heads tomorrow, going to do from reference and break it all way down to boxes.
So instead of heads, I did a contribution to environment of the week. The theme was "interstellar lighthouse". I had a sketch i was working on, then i just went nuts with light, shadow and silouette and blurted this out.
The perspective is boring, so I think ill follow my original sketch and do something more dramatic! Still got 34 heads left to do tough
Ragnj: Tackar! Att grinda studier är nice som fan, borde absolut börjat med det tidigare. Sent inser man xD
Har kollat din sketchbook, riktigt sköna lines. Diggar verkligen The Bronth!
Here comes a wip of another take on this weeks eow. Tried a dramatic perspective with some dudes in space suits to give the lighthouse some scale. I got 34 heads left to do this week, so I aint sure I've got time enought to finish it before the deadline.
