    Gabe's Sketchbook

I figured it'd be best for me to make a sketchbook thread to make me be a little more conscientious about drawing and remembering to do it more often.

Sorry ahead of time for uploading it through another website. I read the rules and I tried uploading it directly from my computer but the files were too big and when I tried decompressing it, the images just looked super pixelated.

I don't have much to post right now since I haven't done much drawing in the past week but I'm trying to get myself to draw and hopefully post here on a regular-ish basis.

    * and yea, the things I posted I just realized aren't full body sketches. I realize that but I promise I'll post full body pieces too in the future.

anyways, let me know what you think. I'll also post WIP pieces here.

Sry for the double posts. Not sure if that's allowed. But I wanted to have a separate post for this piece since I really want critique and advice on how to improve it.

This is my first attempt at painting. And one of my few pieces that uses colors which I'm still trying to figure out.

Please let me know how to improve it. What do you think should be changed, added, removed, etc. The colors are a little faded in the photo than in real life but I think it serves its purpose as a reference. Also, the paint I'm using is watercolors mixed with a tiny amount of gesso to remove a little of the transparent qualities. kind of like pretend paint IMO.

Awesome sketchbook and it's only been two weeks.
I was nowhere near that productive haha.
Lovin' all the traditional here, and the astronaut(I think?) especially.

school's basically out for me. So I'm actually going to try learning digital art and will be probably focusing more on animation since that's my intended major.

    In order:

    Hand Studies
    Master Study - Pontormo
    Master Study - Greuze
    Master Study - Da Vinci
    Master Study - Da Vinci
    Skeleton Study using master study
    Muscle Study using master study
Pastiche (drawing in the style of) - Watteau
Pastiche (drawing in the style of) - Schiele
    2x Gestures
Sketchbook piece - observation of my shorts and kid sleeping.

Edit - hmmm no images showed up. hold on I'll try and fix it lol

Hey there, nice stuff. I like your style. I especially like the colored astronaut suit.
