    Thumbs up

Great artwork! That WIP digital painting looks fantastic so far! I'm actually quite surprised that you're calling it a WIP, heheh.... And I really love the high contrast shading in your traditional sketches. Mad skills all around!

MBK - hey thank you! welcome to CA!

NickyBeats - ew, I see your point. Thats because sometimes I add too many accents as I draw rather than adding them in at the end to clarify some things. Thanks for the crit! That's why I like to see you visit me.

FeelingVeryLucky - Thank you very much. I might consider it done lol. I think I went a bit too blended/soft/smooth all around and I feel like it might be good to put in some more texture and maybe some strokes along the form.. I don't know though I might take it for what its worth and move on.

My57, Ludic - For mech stuff my advice (and take this with a grain of salt because lets face it I don't work in the industry) would be to just find some shapes you like through google images or look at life and try to use them to make some robots. I say this because my tastes are probably different than your tastes. So a car engine, to me, can make for a sweet mech where as some steam pumps or tanks or whatever might be more interesting to you. Most of this is about what is interesting to you. That's the thing that keeps it worth practicing every day. For me I love world war 2 looking military stuff as opposed to more sleek looking modern cars or ski helmets or whatever so I doodle a lot of world war 2 stuff and lately have been trying to understand the shape language I see through studying. Later on I want to incorporate some of that into some mech stuff, or fantasy or whatever it is I want to illustrate. So you just kind of find stuff you like and think about the abstract shapes and what you can turn them into. I don't think I know enough to teach anything, but this is just what I have been trying to do because I notice I do a lot of repetitive things since I have only seen so much. Sorry for the ramble haha.

    Ludic - Thanks lol.

and a sketch too! more reffed stuff. I need to do some from my head... gar. The painting is WIP need to add snow on the tank tracks and some more details and stickers and so on. Maybe tomorrow.

@ Clodioz - Which is because he is my favorite artist of all time and which is why I need to find other artists to look at for awhile... even though Im no where near his skill level. Also, I think I need to stop being so inspired by quake and doom. Thanks for commenting and stopping by

Hey, been wondering what you up to since you graduated. Stuff looks good. I like the APC, just might want to recheck the angle of the windows. Their really small slits and the angle at which they're pushed back looks like it might be hard to look out from. Most that are at that extreme angle have hatches that can open up so the operators can look out. Most APC's used by South Africa have a similar wheeled set-up with glass windows. Might be good reference for you.

so.. unfortunately for me I have been busy lately again, but this time I think I finally took care of everything and now have time to obsess. Anyway, I just finished moving and in the process my liquid cooled pc got messed up. I had to completely take everything apart to figure out what went wrong and ended up having to replace 1000 dollars worth of shit. So now I really need to get better and stop being such a piece of crap.

on the bright side... I spent a little extra time on my studio trying to make it a nice place to work and I love it. In fact if i can find some cameras ill post some pics :> Here are some pencils. I looked at posting more from my last sketchbook but I hate them so ..... no, and more progress on some black and white characters. Not sure if its worth finishing.

From this point on its business for me even if I have to be a dick and blow off all other (real life) priorities. Such as sleeping.

    enough rant

S3CTR4 - hey dude!! yeah trying to get some more interesting shapes together. How you been man?
Rhubix - thank you. I feel like I needed it, but I missed painting and being more motivated. I hope its back now.
    mariposa213 - Thanks man :>
Rotor - Thank ye'sir. I think Ill stay with it for awhile.
mattrmsf - AHHH whats up dude? I miss seeing ya around. Thank you for the critique. We should get together and sketch. Ill send you an email. Are you going to open up a sketchbook here?

Man I have felt like that A LOT over the past year or so. A lot. And it always passes. Something ends up clicking and I move on, as long as I keep working through it. (I'm kinda in one of those right now). I'm sure you've found that as well.

Yo dude. I just enjoyed a good ass-poundin' at the critique thread and will start up a sketch thread soon as soon as I fix a few things. I'll let you know as soon as I do. If you're still in town we should get together. We usually meet up at Shore for free Life Drawing on Thursdays. We've also got a sketchgroup on Tuesdays but a certain individual keeps changing the place. I even missed it this week. Fuckballs!
