I've been drawing with the aim of having a career in art for about six years, it started with my brothers and I wanting to make games and 3D (something we're still pursuing) and somehow we decided we needed to be good at 2d (how long could that take ).
So here I am roughly six years (probably more like four years. 2012 update) on and have finally taken the (huge) step to start a sketchbook, as I feel I need a bit of a boost and thought this is a step in the right direction. Crits more than welcome.
This is a selection of sketches from the last month and is from life, photos and imagination
Enjoy your Doom!

Just want to keep updating this thing (will have to start promoting myself so I can get some comments)
First a painting trying out Sam Nielson process
Then a grey scale painting
And I've decided to get my butt in gear by going through Michael Hamptons Figure Drawing book (one of many figure books I've started and never fully gone through), by doing the lesson and then doing/applying it to photos/life.
I've also decided to try (again started never finish) learn the cannons of the head/face
And finally one of hopefully more 3d heads from the photos at cgsculpt

Greetings, long time no update!.
I've signed up for TAD part time in the compositions and colour theory.
So I'm going to try and keep a more regular account of my progress.
So our first assessment was to create compositions based on emotions
Here's the sketches I did for mine, which were strength, happy, loneliness and calm
And skulls from life of course
And a character design guy sketch
Very nice drawings! Very fresh. Keep it up...if you can incorporate the freshness of the pencil drawings into the final pieces you're well on your way!
Sheila (aka Anita Kunz)
Phwoaar, so much stuff! You've really studied a wide range of things here.
I'd like to see what you're really capable of though, perhaps flesh out a detailed drawing from life?
Very impressive stuff so far though
anitakunz: Thanks for the post. As for getting the freshness of the pencils in other mediums, it is something I'll have to work on because the pencil "is" my tool and anything else I am a little stricter with, more practice!
Sulphur: I was doing still lives but have switched to master copies for a little while. Will post once finished.
I'm going to try updating once a week.
So here's some recent sketchbook stuff and an attempt at Arne's process, only the first two steps, will try to render it tomorrow.
Plus the first of 52 Cards / weeks (which ever comes first!) of mini illustrations. This one is done from a photo.
May Strength Be Kind and Courage Gentle
PoO-kiE: Thanks. As for a longer project, that's on the cards just not this month.
fudgeloaf: Thank you.
adamsimons: *Thumbs up*

Another week another update
First the Megaman painting I was working on, but I am unable to finish it as I have lost it in the jungle and don't have the tools to rescue it
Had fun working on some character designs based on simple objects
Some copies from capcom and a drawing inspired by them
And of course Bruce Lee
Really nice work so far, great hand studies too. Keep it up.
