    aismira - out of shadows

    Hi everyone.

After I hang around here for some time and admired the work of others I decided to kick myself in the ass and start a sketchbook myself. So here I am

Hope it helps me getting better and draw more often ^^

So, for the beginning: my first still-lifes in photoshop.. (drawn in the last few weeks)

scanned some of my sketches of the last days. my scanner is trash...
had to change the images to grayscale so one can even look at them..

some from imagination, some from life and some from photo reference

    Nice start to your sketchbook

I really like your life studies, try and incorporate the techniques you're learning through digital painting into your pencils sketches - look for the large forms and shapes before defining too much with lines.

Nice start to a sketchbook! Keep on grinding out those studies from life, you've got some really nice things going on.

When your working in your sketchbook you might try not being so precise with your line work. Make sure to experiment with gesture lines and explore the shapes of what your drawing before you put down your darker value lines. Breaking your drawings down into shapes that look interesting together is a key part of any good drawing!

    Keep it up!
