    Barbarian rock star

this is a piece I did for a friend's band, that's the lead singer (and practically the main member of only two )

I know this isn't perfect but I really had to stop adding details, I promise my next piece will be better

Yeah I like it, Frank Zappa-ish! Don't know why but "Joe's Garage" instantly springs to mind. Good quality "tongue firmly in cheek" feel for it. So what does your Mate think?

    Great work Ariel!
I personally would like to crop the empty spaces around the objects in order to give a more strong impact to the image.

Well, it totally reminds me of 80ish metal band style and attitude.

I also agree with A78 about cropping it a bit.

Love the, ahem, "axe" ofc... but I think my favorite part is the kitty

Personally I wouldn't crop the sides as much. You've set most of a stage here. I think it might be interesting to have banners flowing down from the top to fill the empty spaces (by banners I mean things that look like this: http://www.litetrix.com/images/castles/5castl~1.jpg) You could put the band's logo on there or whatever you want, just be careful it doesn't distract from any other parts of the scene.

You've really got the perfect amount of negative space for them and I think they'd fit in nicely with this portrait scene.

I laughed really hard when I came back and there was a guitar above his head. I hadn't realized it was for a band and like it that much more now. It's so perfectly ridiculously metal.

I love ridiculously metal things :0.

Also, I'm having a hard time telling whether or not the cat's backside should be receiving light. It's probably best to leave it that way, but I kind of get the feeling the cat's backside is fitting funny with the front side. Might just be me.

Good luck on this one, whenever you decide it to be finished. Looking awesome, though.
