Welcom! You're off to an awesome start! Shading and really understanding the form of bridgmans stuff helps which i see that you've done to some, now do it to all of your future studies!

Ah and the figure drawing looks really solid, nicely constructed. Looking forward to more updates. =D

    Imaginary: Cheers m8!

    Flameseeker: I'll try

Mkey been a while since last update! Been gargantuan busy with Uni >< This time not any studies, just stuff from head and school stuff :o

My first ever zbrush sculpt, done for a character modelling and rigging class.
Maya box model, zbrush sculpt and basic UVs, maya again for some de-rez cleaning, final UVS, and full body rig (including facial blendshapes done via mudbox). Textures were done in photosop. Ye... all over the place >< Based on MARVEL's X-23 character, specifically from the X-Force series

This is my 2nd ever zbrush sculpt >< Done for a friends animation short, a middle-aged sloppy, grumpy father figure.

Imaginary: Hard question This is totally dependant on model complexity - poly count, style, purpose, hair, clothes, workflow/pipeline, experience etc. But the father char took 8+ hours on and off spread over 3 days... :o

I really like your sketchbook; the Bridgman studies turned out really nice. For the last couple of images, did you use a brush/brushpen?

    I like the stone images.

Lovin the spiky enviro. although it would be cool if it could extend to greater lengths, or maybe if some huge structure would appear afar off.
But still its a great concept : )

matjosh - thanks mate! I don't think I'll go back to that piece but great ideas anyway! Keep in mind for next time

The great thing about art is that there are so many different approaches to image making, and so many amazingly different styles. But at the same time it sucks because I feel like I have to learn all of these styles xD I'm at the point now where I'm trying to find what process and style feels natural for me. However the problem is I think a style will feel natural if you only paint in that style all the time... So gonna learn some more techniques, combine some stuff and try to come up with a style unique to me - easier said than done ;d

Some character that started off totally different than envisioned - in some twisted way it reminds me of the 80's cartoon ''Visionaries'' C&C or paintovers welcome!!

Nicely original stuff here and some of the colored pieces show some great sense of interesting colors and composition IMO. I love this one and this one. On the last piece, great lava effect but the armor should reflect it more IMO. Also, some black bits on the shadows could help make it pop out. Also, it's an interesting idea but calls for some explanation to what's happening and where he is... Some painted landscape on the ground could help if he's falling out of the sky at least.

    Keep them coming!

wow. im totally diggin the ideation stuff. those silhouettes are SICK! show us more of those please!

i think if you could really push those tight shapes into your other work, you'd be unstoppable! your painterly work is good, but it feels a bit muddy. i think it just needs some tightening up in places.

also might want to focus on foreshortening a bit. your pirate image is awesome, but it feels a little flat in the areas where his arms and legs are coming toward you.

great work with your colors on a lot of these pieces, especially the wateralls

Got school stuff to catch up on, but art is so much fun arrr xD

Here's an updated pieces of the one above, I'm calling it done time to learn from some new pieces! I apologize for making such a generic glow-y bits armour suit thing, I wont do it again ><
