    various nonsense

Just finished this one for burlesque performer Leyla Rose

::edit:: fixed the issue with the back. Decided not to add in ribs as Leyla hasn't got that sort of build.

I really like this, Ben. Cool colours and I dig the shift in style between the figure and the more stylised stuff in the background.

The foreshortening of the torso is bothering me a little bit though. The curve of her back doesn't seem to tally with the implied angle of her shoulders. I also think the current super smooth curve of the left side of her body could do with breaking up - maybe just a little bump to indicate her rib cage?

    Nice buttock highlight.

I'm not as insightful about this kind of art as the wonderful painter Matt Dixon, although after looking at it for a few moments, I agree with him that her back looks a little off. That aside... Beautiful!!!

    Thanks guys!
Matt Dixon: Thanks Matt, really appreciate your comments. I didn't notice the back was off, but now you've pointed it out I don't see how I could have missed it! I got your book by the way, It's beautiful.
Dahami: Glad you like it! And everyone's opinion is valid and appreciated, so thanks for taking the time to comment.

I like the composition as a whole, it does a lot for me.

Agree with the others about the back though, perhaps worth a fix, it seems like a minor detail that would be easy to touch up, because this is such a lovely piece!

    thanks bagtaggar!

Here's a piece I just finished for The Annual Japanese Rope Bondage Festival.

I'm not into bondage myself, but it was a fun image to do. Might not go down to well on CA tho! ho hum.

Last one is really hip newman. I love the exaggeration of the pose. Composition and the mood works really well with this one. Perspective is a bit off in the background and the booty cheek that is closest to foreground seems to be smaller that back cheek. I still love the image. Just some minor stuff that you could touch up. Thanks for sharing Ben.

Last one is just lovely. I'm really digging your eroticism. Just enough spice, without going overboard IMO. Good shit.

    Beelow and Extollere : Thanks!

I think this one is pretty much done, but I'm not entirely happy with it and I can't put my finger on exactly why. Any constructive crits will be greatly appreciated!

She looks great Ben, but do you know what I think would add to it: her neck is really thin compared to her head. Also the lighter areas on her chest do nothing for the upper curve of the breasts, and the dress straps reinforce this. In fact I think you could lose them altogether. Otherwise ow! That looks sore! Great stuff!

"Okay April, so there were four turtles that fought crime, and they all learnt martial arts from a mouse? Oh, sorry April, I meant a rat of course. More Thorazine please nurse."

    Poor April O' Neill...

Great job. Everything is looking fantastic. There are those few things that could use some tweaking but there is nothing I see that hasn't already been called to attention. I love the April piece. It fits the absurdity that is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so well (Michelangelo was a great touch). Keep up the great work.

Haha I love that TMNT piece! As for it making sense I always look to the comic logic: It's that way because its awesome, and that's reason enough!

The gallery, I'm sure you will be pleased

I like the last one a lot Ben. That is so hip. April O'Neill in a padded room with a turtle. Nice idea!

I really like your work and I do agree with some of the comments above. Do you use reference for your work or is this all out of your head? I seem to have trouble using reference for some reason or I can't exactly find the exact reference I want. Any advice?

Yeah! This rocks. Excellent stuff and I shall follow your work with considerable interest!
The question in the last piece is: Is it the turtle or the interviewer who is locked in the padded cell............. or both?

We are remembered only by what we leave behind.

thanks everyone! really appreciate your comments.

Istmin: I use reference about 75% of the time, although rather than having one specific picture I'm trying to copy I'll have a few different images and take bits from each of them. I sort of covered this in a blog post I did recently, there is a bit more info there if you're interested.
