Well we're going to need guns for the death panels and abortions under the new health care bill. Also for those who disagree with the king.

A gun is not a weapon. It's a tool. Like a butcher knife, or a harpoon, or an alligator

The reason guns are as it is in the declaration is because the people will have a chanse overthrowing an corrupt tyranic government. (I was for banning guns untill I got to know about this.)

Hm, I wonder now again what the reason is to why they want to ban guns.

I like the idea of taking up arms against corrupt governments. The principle. But when i think about it some more its clear that only the idea is sound. You get a handgun, the govt gets a rifle. You get a rifle, the govt get an assault rifle. You get an assault rifle, the govt gets a minigun. You get a minigun, the govt takes away electricity, water, communication and porn. et cetera.

If a government gets corrupt enough to warrant its people taking up arms against itself, don't you think they would crack down on communication before people could even get organized? And if people were to organize despite those odds, do you really think you'd get 300 million people pulling in the same direction? In the best case scenario you'd get splinter cells labeled as extremists and terrorists by the government, in the worst case scenario you'd have a civil war.

In my opinion the idea of taking up arms against the government is a noble idea from a simpler time that just wouldn't be practical today. I believe that propaganda would be more effective than guns to fight the government in this day and age.

Slash, I see you're from Norway, I don't know if you live in the U.S. (or what gun laws are in Norway) but there are a shitton of heavy weapons owned by common people here.

Hell, in Camden, the police came under fire from guys shooting off semiautomatics and had assault rifles just in case they got bored.

    I enjoy drawing guns.
Carrying an M-16 not so much.
It was dirty, heavy, and had a tendency to make painful contact with heads when you took the bus.
Could have been worse, it never had an M203 attached to it.

    Okay..Discuss this:

That will not stop firearmed crime, instead it will make sure some lady getting mugged won't have her derringer in the purse to defend herself...

And the worst part is that his charm and overall canadian antics make gun control sound like just another sensical plan on his roster..

Lets face it, Obama is way to charismatic and good looking to be really married to whatever he's married to.. (The chair she's sitting on has more personality and looks on TV than she does... Her plead for Haiti made me wanna help her, not Haiti)

It's a carefully crafted and presented black familly to dull your senses into accepting the "natural" just like you do with senator Palmer on 24, Obama knows it, Canada knows it, Tiger Woods knows it, White old Repuclicans/Hollywood screenwriters know it. And you're just about to welcome marshal law with open hands ain't ya..

Everyone needs to wake up and realise that U.S government is indeed evil, in waaay more subtle sense than what people like pointing fingers to. That evil will span beyond Bush's or Obama's pathetic 4 years in the office (it spans beyond your country) Tyrrants, great presidents, and laughing stocks will be equally thrown at you for years to come in one looong theatrical play. They will threaten your freedoms, defend them, etc, etc. All just to keep you preocupied with ideals, semantics, and lots of other shit, while the world class parasites and their progeny continue climbing the evolutionary ladder without you.

I should have stopped reading there. Your (conspiracy theory) argument already holds no weight. But its even harder to take you seriously when you bring personal insults into it.

I personally think that crossbows/bow and arrow takes more skill to use, Looks more bad ass and menacing. I would carry around with me if i knew how to use one properly and had the right kind of outfit for it.

We all know why Obama really wants to take our guns away. His reptilian overlords who secretly run the government don't want us to have guns to fight back when they finally emerge from their underground cities to enslave us all.

Where the zombie apocalypse fits into this I'm not quite sure.

The only thing i was actually serious about is his wife...Oh and maybe the mugging scenario.

As for not taking something seriously because of "personal insults" involved...
How about a personal compliment instead? "Gee golly ZWarrior! You can sure leave a creative comment ah tell ya what". Do you take me more seriously on that one?

Tell that to the resistance in Iraq.

The American Revolution was won by less than 10% of the population, iirc. Regardless, there are over 100 million gun-owners in the U.S.; if even 10% of them decided to fight, that's 10 million insurgents. It would make Iraq look like a walk in the park. Even in these days of neutron bombs and flying assault drones, an armed populace is still the ultimate check and balance, just like the framers of the U.S. Constitution intended.

You get a blog, the government gets a news corporation; you get a news corporation, the government gets a media conglomerate and sics the FCC on you... What you said about weapons goes double from propaganda, it seems to me.

Good Lord! Elwell's talking at me in capital orange letters!

90% of "concept art" involves some galoot standin' around in a 3/4 stance brandishing some sort of weapon.

'bout time someone established a quality gun thread around here!
