    Shilpi's Sketches

Hey guys! I've made a sketchbook in the past though that didn't end up well oho, so here's another attempt at a CA sketchbook and hopefully I'll stick with this one faithfully! I've always found CA as a great resource and I hope I can learn a few things (or even more) in my duration here and improve my art. C: I'm open to any and all crits and comments and I'll try to follow them to the best of my abilities.

To tell you the truth I'm quivering in fear. The awesome level here has always been tremendous here but hopefully you guys don't bite?

So I guess I'll start off with lips (lol lip service/shot) from my own lame face, life drawing done at school, and some wayward doodles.

Spot on! I like the way you rendered the lips. I assume the last group of sketches are speed sketches? They seem out of proportion but have character.

DreamDefiant- Thank you! Yeah, they were speed sketches, some doodles to keep me sane during class.

Here some more stuff, more doodles from life and eyes/nose from my face once again.

Some more stuff from life. I really don't have much time to draw these days what with school...I hope I'll have more time later. lol

LOVE your life sketches. Your lines feel loose but defining...vibrant and alive.

It's funny I notice many of your life sketches are from behind people. I do the same thing. I don't want them to know I am drawing them, hehe.

Eyes are looking great but need stronger highlights perhaps...? Awesome lipsss

    TacticallyWacked- Thanks a lot! C:
Hehe, same. XD Though the only time I do them is when we're having class so their backs are the only things I do see. Yeah, I think I should work on those eyes more.

Dr poPcoRN- Thanks for the support. : D I'll keep on.

I think I'll post some older yet recent stuff.

Very nice stuff, Shilpi! I really like the figure sketches.

Just a small thing, but maybe when you're shading studies, you might look for planes and flat areas more? Might help when trying to understand the structure of objects.

    Keep it up!

That was a cool idea with the shoelaces up there. No critiques from me, just wanted to compliment the floating depressed shoelace guy up there. Nice stuff overall. Looks like you got allot of good ideas and dedication.
