    The Dream Of The Chestnut

    Hi everyone!

My name is Sara Cuervo, I'm 19 and I'm from Spain. I'm studying art by myself, so all the critiques I may receive here will be most helpful and appreciated.

I work mainly with Photoshop, but I tackle the pencils every now and then, and a few days ago I started doodling with watercolors.

I hope to update this thread weekly (hope, that's the key word). Thanks in advance for watching Please help me achieve my dream of improving my art!

    First doodles coming!

Now, to the art. The first one is the initial sketch for the current CHOW, about tattoed people...
My idea is to portray a mourning widow with all the veil and the lace tattooed to her body. I think it can look good, plus I like the tattooed tear detail. I hope it comes out good!

These are random doodles made at Starbucks. Not worth very much, but I liked the cookie XD
    Attachment 934098

A sketch that I already passed to digital and will soon be finished...

A study from a stock photo by Marcus Ranum, http://www.ranum.com/
    Attachment 934097

Some watercolor tests. I'm very new to the medium (it's like, the third time I use them), but I enjoy it a lot, even when most of the times I don't know what the hell I'm doing! 8D
    Attachment 934102
(in the second one, the figure is from one of LockStock's images - http://lockstock.deviantart.com/art/...k-two-82966305)

...And another sketch. I'll try to finish it in pencils, let's see how it goes...

Ok, that's all for now. Hope you like them!

Just wanted to let you know that I think your final for the Tattoo CHOW turned out great! Very cool idea! You have a lot of natural talent. Hope to see more of your work in the weekly challenges!

Hola!

@Kat44: Thank you very much! I had a lot of fun doing the pic, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Ow, and I'm planning to participate in the current CHOW... but in a slightly different style, hehehe XD

@Abrodos: Hombre, hola!

    -----

LOL did I say a weekly upload...? XDDD Well I'm here again now, I guess that's all that counts...

More watercolour tests (I specially like the mermaid). Winsor & Newton artist watercolours are so cool to work with! But and advice: NEVER mix watercolours with copics. See that disgrace on the purple-haired girl's cheeks? So there.
    Attachment 998084

Design for a mermaid race, following the previous one. Strange, the part I like the most is the vest 8D The arms look a bit weird tho...
    Attachment 998090

I'm not sure if I like this one or not. Mehh... (ow btw, pose is from Posemaniacs)
    Attachment 998087

Chibies! (or "The only thing I can do right" XDDD) Kua and Terra from Dissidia FF. They're already half watercoloured~
    Attachment 998086

Another chibi, this time Morpheus from Sandman. Won't be watercoloured, I think I'll finish it digitally.
    Attachment 998085

Aaand a very early sketch for the current CHOW ( Andromeda). Since I already know I won't be able to compete with the level of awesomeness on this topic, I decided to go for a chibiish look XD I think it has possibilities...
    Attachment 998088

That's all this time. Hope to post again soon - Thanks for watching!

Hello there! Sorry for the lack of activity... Most of my sketchwork studies are in traditional, and usually I'm very lazy about everything concerning the scanner XDD But here we go, once again!

Some perspective studies...Plus a few doodles to send away the stress XDD (some ones are from a Transmetropolitan cover - I started reading the series some days ago, and it's AWESOME)

Some watercolours tests. The little portraits are from the Moleskine, which has a really great paper texture, IMO! ...The winged guy is so messed up *shame*

    More mermen studies...

Aaaand some figure drawings on the street, plus two more portraits:

...But that's not all! I have more sketches ready to post (mainly anatomy studies and more outdoor figure sketching), but today I'm too lazy to scan XD I'll post them tomorrow!

    See you, thanks for watching

And for the last...Some spicy and sketchy stuff!
    Attachment 1053490
...Can't wait to complete this one XD

    CHOW Andromeda

    I finally finished it!

It's the piece I started for CHOW#201: Andromeda. I left it half done... Until yesterday. I specially like how the flowers went. What do you think?

Abnormally: Thank you very much! I'm glad that you like the watercolours. I think I'm slowly improving with them
