    I love your work. All the sci fi stuff is truly inspiring.
    Might I suggest more landscape and buildings? I would love to see your take on them

    Love your armour concepts.. and how does the Pangu terraforming ship work? I'm curious =)

    Thought there was a MP Eva influence on the helmet design in #22, really like it. Not so sure abt the head mounted knife though... looks like an opponent can swipe it off him? Love the design though... and the Gundam Unicorn influence :p

    Looking forward to more stuff from you.

    I suppose no matter what I'm drawing, there will always be some sort of question in my mind about it. A work of art (even cartoon art) is never really finished; it is abandoned.

    The 盘古[Pan Gu] was the second of the massive Gaia-class terraforming 'ark' ships used for extremely long-range colonization. Gaia-class ships carry their own fleets of mining and escort vessels along with their respective automated fabrication plants. The aft section of the ship is dedicated to manufacturing of colonial cities [orange boxes] which would be dropped off at appropriate sites and unfold, ready to be inhabited. Forward "fingers" are bristling with earth-moving equipment, but also contain science facilities for seeding fauna and flora. Once the colony has been fully established, the vessel powers down permanently to become part of the landscape.

    My friend and I were having an art duel and we ended up agreeing on the theme being a 'giant terraforming robot.'
    Conceptual anchor for the design comes from Chinese creation myth of Pan Gu; it is said he pretty much separated the heavens and the earth and then he died and his body turned into all the geographical features we see. Blood vessels became the rivers and streams and his spine became mountain ranges blah blah blah.

    In any case I felt doing a completely anthropomorphic mech would be a bit boring so I settled with just a hand shape. I guess it also suggests that Humans are 'laying hands upon' this new world.

    Maybe that's a required issue to be able to play out a certain scenario. Or maybe there's some super advanced mechanism that prevents that. It's science fiction, and it'll do whatever you or I want it to do.

    I'm quite fan of your mechanical drawings - your anatomy drawings follow in a close second place. One thing I have noticed is that your brushwork sometimes seems hesitance, something that might has to do with experience? It's mostly an opacity thing or a certain bravura still missing in your strokes, get that in and you're a very solid artist. =D

    Pretty much. I've always sucked at colors so it's still pretty scary for me. Working hard to get better!

    Submitted that Ghost vs Spectre picture to Blizzard fan art and got in, then I realized I should have submitted to Blizzcon art contest instead [now picture is ineligible]. Now I have to come up with something better so I can get a shot at winning a Cintiq bleh

    Today:




    Toying around with fast attack 'skating' mechs/vehicles. Didn't want to do something that looks like a humvee/LAV/liger/megazord/gekko... well not too much like a gekko [mgs4].
    Maybe now it's too much like Code Geass though? I dunno, you make the call.

    The lower 'jaw' on both are like 30mm cannons mounted like in modern attack helicopters.

    Center of gravity is shifted far forward during fast movement, can hop, stand up on hind wheels [skating is done on 'knees'], etc. Arms in top model might be able to grab onto fabric folded into thigh and draw it out to form 'wings.'

    Nice designs man! Now just go back and refine it with some crisp lines. The first top left image reminds me a lot of metal gear ray. Keep up the hard work man.

    Great stuff Mate! You are going to be very interesting to watch over the next few years as you have serious talent. Couple of things I would like to see you try......... go sleek, slim everything down with your suits and weapons. Sensuous, elegant and just plain nasty! Don't worry about fan art, Dude........... your own ideas are the marketable ones. Cool
