My name is Phil Lietz, I am no stranger to the site, but haven't posted before. Hopefully I can manage the upkeep, I now have way too many internet thingies to maintain.
Thanks for looking.

there seems to be some problem with the attachments.
anyway looking forward to seeing a lot more from you
anyonme with rick ross in their skectchbook is okay by me. love your stuff man. really glad you started a book in here. you have some killer shit posted, and your blog is equally interesting.
your decisions are very unique.
i also saw you were in dallas? did i talk to you? did i see any of your work there?
keep killing it.
Coro: Thanks a bunch man, glad you like my stuff. Rick Ross big boss is my hero heh :]
I was in Dallas, and in Seattle for Revelations, both were phenomenal workshops. I was still in school in Seattle, and I showed you some of the schoolwork I was doing at the time. In Dallas, I spent most of the time taking it all in and only showed my stuff to a few people. I drove down into Texas from here in Denver, and almost missed it due to a snowstorm in Amarillo and also had my car broken into on the third day of the event. Lame. But otherwise it was a great time.
thanks again man, much appreciated.
some more bird-like stuff, and page from the sketchbook.
My god you are AMAZING.
The first few sketches are A4? In ordinary pencil? I'm interested to know what kind of paper because if that's cartridge then damn you have patience.
You are successful at amalgamating animals. Though i prefer simplified versions you are still very inspiring.
Did you draw allot of birds and other study sketches before you were able to draw these guys so fluently?
Lyndsay Harper: thanks, glad you like the birds.
Yeah these are just pencil, F led on Vellum Bristol. And yes a great deal of research goes into each creature. Not just birds, but specific species that interest me. I try to do this for anything I draw/paint.
Really brilliant work. You can get such a feel for the creatures in terms of how they look they kinda feel like real creatures not just things you imagined seriously no crit here amazing work
GOD, another one of my new favorite artist, I sent you a email asking some questions, just basic stuff, Thanks for the artwork, I come here alot, and its almost like crack, I need new stuff, and your artwork was a supreme overdose, thanks. I love the organization of the birds, a great deal of study most went into drawing those. Ttyl. Did you draw them, then go into photoshop and overlay them. Amazing.
Look, Iam diet drama, want to spend tha night dont bring pajamas, man there's so much heat beneath clothes, you see me !
JesArt Sketchbook, go have a gander..
Architaylor: its good to hear that thanks!
JesArt: hey thanks I appreciate that. I will be sure to respond to your email. :]
PHATandy: thank you!
kingkostas: much appreciated, and I will keep sharing for sure.
Another quick bird, I think I should move on. lol
I checked your website, fantastic work! your creatures are beautiful, the textures subtle and working.. thanks for sharing! as has been mentioned, they really appear as if real and existing.
Supa' awesome man. Great work, beautiful designs. I hear ya, it's hard to upkeep 1 million art blogs on the innanet. Thanks for starting another one Did we meet at a workshop? Eager to see where you go from here man.
Do you do any figure work, shit like that? It seems like you do, your handling of organic masses is really spot on. That was one thing me and coro were talking about after the review. If you're looking for sweet job action then that might be something to put in. Just make sure it's the most tasteless fantasy or badass agent you can imagine That ought to go well with realistic, natural creature designs...
mc2mc2: Thanks, thats interesting that they creep you out, never gotten that reaction before, which is cool!
Piemonster: thanks a bunch
DefiledVisions: I'm glad you like my stuff. Thanks for checking out my site!
krossj: Thank you thanks for looking
heix33: true, nature is the best! Thanks!
some life drawings from this week:
Oh no! your the same age as me and totally kick my ass!!! you've inspired me to draw until i ruin my sketchbook pages with the blood coming from my hand.
