Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
Hey everyone, thanks for dropping by! c8
I made this Sketchbook to have a place to show my portfolio for Ringling since I was accepted to the GAD program for 2010, but I've actually been wanting to make one for awhile |D I'll post updates every once in awhile!
Critiques and suggestions are greatly welcomed and appreciated!
The one above and below are actually both over a year old ( Winter 2008 ) but everyone told me to put them into my portfolio lskdjf I felt REALLY embarrassed to put the Ram Skull one (above) in, because it was my first acrylic painting ever but people kept telling me to put it in and I'm a big pushover so haha |D
..And that's my portfolio for Ringling! I also applied to AAU, LCAD, and CalArts with pretty much the same portfolio give or take a few pieces. I got a $4,200 merit scholarship per year for LCAD. CalArts was the only one I didn't get into, but I expected that. I TOTALLY had to rush down to the last minute to get my portfolio in on time and meet the deadline for them p_p Oh well!
Tell me what you guys think! I'd especially like crits on my figure drawings/gestures because I know some of them are pretty wonky haha |D

Awww thank you so much, Marian! cB
Thank you drd! 8] Yeah, I can't wait to be taking figure drawing classes |D I hope you don't have to wait much longer; hopefully you'll get your letter tomorrow!
It's been awhile! I've been at Ringling for a month and a half and haven't updated yet, so I thought I should Oh man, I'm already embarrassed by most of my old portfolio art |D
These are gesture drawings from my first 4 Figure Drawing classes back in August/early September. All of them are 1 minute long sketches unless I put otherwise. They go from oldest at the top to most recent at the bottom.
I was terrified of doing 30 second gestures at first because THEY'RE SO FRUSTRATINGLY FAST, but they became my favorite pretty quickly, and it seems like some of my best ones come from those.
Sumi Brush Ink Gestures (1-3 minutes):
I really don't like Sumi that much 8( Some people are just naturally so amazing at it, but I really don't like the feel to them 8\
Contour Line Objects:
Contour Line Still Life:
More Contour Objects (Transforming*~*~*~):
There'll be more people in the next post 8>
Thanks for looking!
I haven't updated in awhile, so I'll break things up into a few posts |D This stuff is from October.
There's cafe drawings, some short gestures from my Figure Drawing class, and a self-portrait where we could only use white and black charcoal with no blending.

I like the flowing linework in your life studies - very nice.
Looking forward to seeing more, and then i might even add a helpful comment.
my sketches here... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92997
www.sevans.co.nz , visit them or a puppy dies!
@Marian and Sevans: Thanks you guys! c8
Another update of stuff from November/December:
I have some more stuff, but this post would be massive if I added them in, so I'll save them for later, haha.
Here's the second part to my last post, the last bit of work from last semester - a bunch of figure drawings and another self-portrait.
Thanks again, Marian! Your comments are much appreciated
I was hoping to get back a few more assignments from Color class, but we never got them back, oh well 8\ The first picture is from Traditional Animation; we were told we'd get to do an animal jump when we got back from spring break, and got our animals really early - I got a Toucan c8 I was so excited I sketched out a page of them the next day to figure out different ways of exaggerating them and what worked. The rest of the assignments are from Color and are PRETTY BORING, but I think this next quarter we'll get to do more environments 8>
Awww thank you so much tronrobot! qvq That means a lot (B
Hi! I don't think the colored ones are boring!! Absolutely like them! You're doing fine, also with figures and even more with charcoal!
@Ivan - Thank you! I really need to get back into figure drawing, my Figure class was only one semester and ended back in December 8( I'll definitely get back into it and post more!
@Marian - You're very welcome c8 I'll definitely keep an eye on it! And thank you so much ;v;
@Kristoff - Thank you! Yeah, I tend to sketch really cleanly |D I'll try to update more often!
wow. your figures and gestures, especially the charcoal ones, look pro. and i'm a huuuuuuge fan of the toucans!!! i'd love to see you explore more characters in that manner!
my teeth and ambitions are bared - be prepared
Do you believe in this sketchbook?
The charcoal studies are great, also the contour lines studies. Nice sketchbook so far.
cool name, cool work =]
Just wanted to say thanks for looking into my sketchbook. Anyway, your figure studies are looking good. Although I have no idea what your teachers want to you do with those color assignments, I would say the colors are ridiculously over saturated. And the perspective in that colored room seems kinda wonky.
My page on Facebook, which I update much more often.
