f1x Thanks your work big time. So much good shit.

Hey Nicky! Thanks, Ive been a bit busy I suppose. Had my graduation from Uni and I'm still doing freelance work everyday so I dont do much of my own shit.
    Except for this!
Im doing a whole loads of Maces. Except I'm going through tonnes of styles of them. So from different times and civilizations, hopefully going from stone age to even some futuristic maces.

Not sure why I picked maces. But I think they are awesome.

You have so much range! Those maces are badass.

I really like what you did with mecha on the previous page, I don't know about it being boring since the composition works pretty well. Maybe some damage effects would add a bit of flavor.

btw, those environment thumbs are very cool. Keep it up!

ps: Good luck with your portfolio

Wreck Thats the thinkin'! Doing what a mace does best!
enat Yeh the composition is ok I guess, theres just something about it that was bugging me. Needs more action, or detailing like you mentioned. Just couldnt get into it Thanks you too.
monstertree Thats the plan. Im glad thats coming across. Its a few birds with 1 stone. Definitely practicing my materials.
no87 Hey man! Thanks and yeh its going OK, slow, but OK. Ill get there soon! (i hope).
    Albino Thanks man!
James Wolf Thanks a lot man. I only recently found your sketchbook and its awwweeesooome. Great work dude.

Some more maces. Because I'm nice. I thought you guys here at CA deserved better. So this is much higher res and I replaced the other one with a higher res version too.

    Tom Thank you broskii !
    Sebastian Thank you TOO!

So.... as for keeping you updated. Well about that.
I've been working consistently, pretty much everyday. Just when I'm done with any of my actual work, I kinda bum about.

But that's changing, last night instead of being lazy, I was just like 'fuck it' and I wanted to really break out of something. Get loose and dirty, and it feels good. I used to do way more of this stuff - the famed 'Wes Burt Extra Limbs' - I mean I was one of the first cool people, copying the real cool people (ie. Wes and Marko). Now everyone's copying the cool kids who copied the original cool kids! (not me though, I'm neither cool nor original SADFACE). Its good though, I could look at people drawing this shit all day (PROPS TO WALNUT YO!).
Anyways, it feels good. I need to find me a life drawing class so I can do this for realsies. Also I have some commission stuff I should be able to show. I've been working on Steampunk vehicles, awesome!

Some with ref. Some without, chef.

    Peace out.

Edit: Also, got some Hand stuff coming up. I found this AMAZING resource for drawing hands. Its from one of my bros. But its so good I'm not gonna show it (its because I cant, dont know where it is )

Straight from my blog because its really how I'm feeling (also note; the sense of wanting people to read this, while understanding that I dont expect anyone to solve this problem. Wierd.)

"I still don't know what I'm doing. All of my art seems to be me fumbling around in the darkness. In both technique and the thinking (design) behind it. I need to find something I can focus on. I still need to make that decision and statement that says "this is how you want to paint, and this is what you want to paint". Probably should be working more too. Silly old Phandy."

Piemonster, Sage and Sebastian - thanks guys, always appreciate everyones love and encouragement.
Walnut - Yeah Im talking about you!! I really love the excitement in your figures atm, its like your imagination is pouring into your lines as well as just your designs.
Oh yeah and Janaschi does it great too, I'm pretty sure it all goes back to Wes and Marko though probably.

About that line in your blog, i think the doubts about what you can and/or want to do are an integral part of being into art, and for most of the time all you have to get through periods of doubt is a good helping off blind faith. If it's a comfort, i'm pretty sure everyone on this forum goes through the same thing on a regular basis, i know i do. Your work has a lot of feeling and colour into it, so in my opinion you are on the right track. Most of the time style is something that just happens to you along the way, so don't sweat about it. Hope that helps. Nice mountain btw.
