    Well, we would 'crit' if you would ever be kind to 'crit' back.
    But you ain't kind enough, so you know how they say...

    Hey man. Awesome robot.

    The form and line work looks super-tight, no comment there

    I think you're over-complicating the lighting tho. Too many gradients are making it
    look confused and diffuse, not like the strong, clear effect of bright sunlight.

    Just remember, in a strong direct light, there will really only be two values: the lit
    planes and the unlit ones. Also on a hard, flat matte plane like a sheet of painted
    metal, there won't be much of a gradient, just a single solid tone.

    Once you concentrate on that I think you'll get more pleasing and less confusing
    results. You can always start to add more realism, cast shadows (which you got)
    reflected light from the ground or other forms, 'fill light' from the blue sky, 'crevice
    shadows' where no light can reach.

    But the basic scheme is 'is this plane lit, or in shadow'?

    Anyways...it looks cool, keep it up!

    sketchbook...a kitten dies every time you don't comment

    “When forced to work within a strict framework,
    the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
    produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
    the work is likely to sprawl.”

    @AndAllThatJazz Thanks mate

    @LtPlissken Sorry i know i should but i simply do not have the time. I have hndreds of people i'm watching on DA and a 20-30 people i was watching here. Now that i have to work full time and plus hours i barely have the time to draw not to speak of checking out all the new stuff people do. My heart is breaking because I have over 10000 art pieces on DA alone in my watchlist that i haven;t seen and don't know when i will find the time to check them out. But i'll try my best to be more active from now on.

    @BludHund Thanks mate, yeah i sadly still go to much into the gradient stuff and can;t stop when i should i'll definitely have to watch out for this next time.

    So now post for a moth, damn I just want to do art, all the time. I can't wait for my internship to be up, hopefully i'll have more time after that, but it might get even worse Anyways here is some of the stuff i did draw during February, because i did draw i just couldn't find the time to upload.

    I have to Design a Character challenges for February, a study, a caricature/portrait commission of someone and a hover heavy transporter industrial robot.

    I did some more work on my Viking for the DAC over at DA, and some more robots.

    well i always see robot as a "product" instead of a character.

    a "product" has its purpose. so to make a great robot need a purpose like why it was made, for what it was invented, etc.

    2nd thing is that i notice some of your robot joints/arms/legs are un-bend-able/unfoldable.

    a robot leg which is as flexible as human one need 2 joints meaning 3 bones.

    I have to admit, I have almost forgot about you,
    and I hate to repeat it to everyone, but i must;
    my thread update report system do not work for a week
    or more now, and I just do not know when anyone updated
    his sketchbook. Anyway I am subscribed for your book but
    now as the system is malfunctioning, I have no idea what is happening.
    So glad that you started to update so frequently.
    I am so happy because of this.
    Hey, do you know about our new sketch group, that Novbert
    has started?
    It is still not too late for you to get involved.
    Here is the link;

    Take care my friend,
    I will try to visit more often from now on.

    @Cerealist usually i do go for function with my robots, it is rare that i go for personality. Lately i did more industrial robots then funny ones, but i know what u mean. I just like to mix it up.

    @LtPlissken Hey thanks for coming by. And damn i hate you for showing me that group now i'll have to join that just seems like to much fun and to big of an opportunity to learn No seriously thanks, i'll definitely will have to make some free time and join the group. Sad thing is that i only have time on weekends to do review and posting stuff. So next weekend i'll try my best to complete the assignment zero for the group. Thanks again.

    And here is a floating robot head I did for a friends game project:

    Thanks a lot guys.

    Heres a quick fun sketch i did after watching Faster with Dwayne the Rock Johnson, and another quick sketch to work on my "from gray to color" technique.

    Tnx for stopping by, to answer your question.
    I just started studying from life/ref full-time, I learned allot from it, and it helps me to slowly understand the visual language, which in turn makes my drawings more 'confident', I can say what I want in more fluent 'words'.

    But I have very far to go still yes.
    So ref studies, life, artists, photographs.. anything visual.
