Haha the figures feel like they're underwater.
Sounds like Austin is a blast so far! Keep feeding us with inspiration.
Just wanted to say thanks for popping in my sketchbook. Anyway, I really like the abstractions of emotions and that masked figure in post #680, it reminds me of Zant from Zelda.
My page on Facebook, which I update much more often.
hey stranger, i think using different materials with different reactions to light would help your stuff out, your croc guy has so many similar values it sort of kills the painting. I think this painting which is also an organic monster could really help you out, notice the smooth transitions and different value ranges http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3p_Az9Y1-d...00/trooper.jpg
hey man just wanted to say thanks for your kind comment in my sketchbook..! the 'drawing chops' part is my favorite haha..
i really like your stuff.. that SP where your face is cracking, very believable
but those 3 last figure drawings really got me, the noise effects give a nice 3d effect.. i guess i'll have to play with that later
Towy- Cheers, thanks man, yeah I believe we are friends on FB, my real name is Alex Konstad

Alright here is a clayface portrait done for the daily sketchgroup we are running here at the ATXPOD, lots of fun and pretty entertaining to try and keep up with a character a day, working on some harrypotter ones now. Also, some sketches done on the bus while traveling too and from school, good practice in staying loose but they get a bit messy. Thanks for looking y'all!
And then here are some silly breakfeast friend drawings, real quick but entertaining

The improvement, and the sheer amount of work you post here is just too much for my brain. I really would like to have something constructive to offer, but I don't even know where to start looking. Everything seems fine from the first look I had. I'll now spend a longer time flipping through this thread just to see all the great artwork that I missed.
great stuff as always - I like this recent mock new yorker cover but what really caught my eye is those alien/predator looking sketches in your moleskine! More please
Oh man, everything about this sketchbook makes me so happy! I love the designs you come up with, and your rendering is very nice. Keep up the great work man! (Tyler the Creator is the fuckin man!)
Quinn Simoes- Thanks man!

Alright I meant to put these up when I updated last 4/20 when the album dropped but its all the same right? Hehehe. This is an album cover painted for a friend back in Portland, the painting itself is pretty old around decemberish i think, but the album just came out so I can post it up check it out here! INCENDIARY, also some 15 minute character warm ups. thanks for looking!
HOLY CRAP! Bro i LOVE your style .. it's just AWSOME!
I think you're one of my favorites here in cA ... your work is sick.
I really enjoy watching your character designs and all the other stuff right here .. it was like love on the first sight.
Apart from that you're taste of music totally matches mine.
Well before you start thinking that i fell i love with you or something i'll end this post ..
Keep it up!
those character warm ups are nice and the album cover is friggin SWAG, and i can't believe i missed those breakfeast friend drawings haha, anyways man, great update...looking forward to seeing more!
Hey fool, you've been up to some crazy progress since i was last in here, your trek to Texas has really payed off, Anatomy, rendering/technique, and concepts have really blown up in a great way. My apologies for not coming through more often, but consider me inspired.
Keep it up!
