    Looking for a friend

I've turned my life upside down and amidst all the chaos I find myself alone. I've never had any talented artist friends to share that side of my life with and now I find myself pursuing art school.

I'm just looking for someone to spend some quality time chatting with as well as someone who I can be creative with. I enjoy someone who can give critiques and REALLY enjoy someone who can teach me something, as I always strive to do the same.

    Here is my sketchbook/blog.

Hay Demosthenes Super Sketch groups (i think thats what ssg stands for) Encompass everything I believe your looking for. What it is usually 4-5 or even more artist here on CA group up and provide support, friendship, whatever you want...with in reason. Ive had some varied results with some groups most of which just fell apart...I myself need a little push here and their. soo if you want someone to help with crits, and studies and some artist to talk to then I have no problem with getting 2-3 more people and starting a group up.!!

If you see me on FB, or CA Talk to me, never to busy to talk and love to hear from you, chat me up about anything (Music, Games, art, ect)
If anyone is interested in streams or hangouts let me know!

I'll be your friend! for a fee... XD

Demo said it all, the sketchbook support group (ssg) is really good for the whole friend thingy and keeping you on your toes. I used to be in one awhile ago, fell apart but im up for making one with you, demo and whoever else, since im just starting to get back into the fray with art.

SSG aside, most people on here are real friendly, and are easy to get along with, of course you have ya bad apples, but where doesn't hu lol
Welcome to CA and hope you enjoy your stay!

Where you going to go to art school? Chances are you will meet a bunch of like-minded people there (and a lot better to be friends with people in RL than random interweb people... sometimes >< )

Thanks for your replies everyone. I'd love to do a SSG!

I won't be going to art school for at least a year, so it's a long way off. I'm applying to Art Center, Academy of Art University and Ringling. I may also consider TAD or the CA Atelier, but I'm not sure about that option as of right now.

I originally wanted to transfer to one of those schools for this coming fall but a few things got in my way so I'm taking the extra time to really perfect my portfolio.

    "past is past."

Lol, that was like what, yesterday? Anywho, hey if you can learn and progress from that, then good.

Demosthenese I'll be your friend. There's no one where I live who really talks about art, and I wouldn't have time to leave the house anyway. Just make sure to make art regularly!

I'll be your friend. The people here at CA.org are great but, as Crane says we do have some bad apples here. Either way, it's a great place to learn and connect with people. Also, Ivory_Oasis is right you will meet like-minded people in school, I know I did (we still keep in touch too; although, there's a few of them with cellphones not working xD). More or less though, you'll find people everywhere who enjoy the same stuff you do...just gotta look.

    Cheers!

I'm still trying to decipher what the hell was going on with that thread.

Demosthenes, you seem to have found what you are looking for and I am glad that the community is welcoming you warmly, but don't forget about friends in real life as well. As it was stated above, you will most likely meet some pretty awesome people in art school.

That said, welcome to CA. If critique and learning is what you're seeking, you've definitely come to the right place.

Thank you everybody for your replies,

I apologize for the delay in replying - I had been studying for an exam earlier this week.

I really appreciate everyone's kindness. I've friended everyone who linked their FB page, and I've added my sketchbook link to my signature.

So how to we get this SSG started?
