Journey of 1,000 artworks begin with a single artwork

    ...or something like that.

Anyways, here's a good advice that one of my art professors told me about experience that I'll definitely be taking in. No matter how good (or horrible, in your opinion) you are at the moment, you'll get better over time, guaranteed. Make 300, 500, 800, or even 1,000 artworks and changes will be seen overtime. I don't know, but I would for sure hate seeing people quit doing art because they have a promotion in a job or whatnot - it's baffling to see that people miss their opportunities to really see how much their skills would change in over matter of years.

But yeah, I'm sure something like this has been posted before but this is something that keeps me going as an artist for sure. I wouldn't mind seeing myself within the next 10-20 years and see where I stand, ahah.

Perhaps a little harsh Despite it being obvious advice to some I bet there are others to whom this information will come as a shock. Or will simply be disbelieved. Clearly many forum posters draw as much as they can and ask a lot of questions too, which is great - exactly the right attitude, but what about those other threads that regularly pop up? What about the people panicking because they're not drawing as they'd like (after two months of sporadic doodling), or they're not getting better (what possible solution could there be to that?) or they don't know what to draw (so they choose not to draw anything), or they're not as good as pro artist X (a complaint often accompanied by genuine bafflement despite them never having finished a piece of art in their entire life), or they can't start painting yet because they don't know which exercise to follow out of which book (and they have two dozen books now so what are they doing wrong?). These are the ones that need to GD.
