Thanks for the advice on my landscape. Especially coming from you because you're sketches are awesome. I like the thumbnails a lot; they translate really well in the larger sketches because the compositions seem well planned. Colors are great too.

Have you seen leventep.deviantart.com before? I think he's a great environment artist on all levels--composition, mood, texture, color, etc.; but I think he's especially good at making "randomness" interesting. Plus he has a great brush pack in one of his journals haha. Anyway, i think you'll be interested in his stuff. It's really refreshing.

    Keep experimenting!

love your enviros man, the horse one in the cave is just awesome. Really did the water, grass/moss well. Though the one below of the ship refueling or somthing, I think the bg looks a little flat, but then maybe ur not finished with it. Anyway peace man.

I started this sketch and then I was thinking about what direction I could take it. I've been inspired by some guild wars concepts and the weird extremes they go to.
Please give me your thoughts which you like best.

Why do we say "beheaded"? You're not giving a head, you're taking one away. It should be "de-headed".

Anyway, Anakin was only de-limbed. Quite spectacularly though...

No I don't think I have heard of him, although I have heard matte painters speak highly of the Hudson river school.

    Yeah!
    Nice environments!
The only thing i can say is to practice mood a bit more!
It's the only "great" lack in your paintings in my opinion!

Keep it up and dooo moooooooore!

Epic landscapes. Question, are you using a chalk brush/oil pastel brush from default photoshop? Your textures on the landscapes are really good and I figured those two helped do it.

Olivepalm: I love landscapes too. Sometimes I listen to music while I paint but usually I listen to Opie and Anthony.
I am no master but thanks for the compliment.

deadlyhazard: I do use the default chalk brush, usually with tweaked settings such as flow jitter, texture, or roundness.

    thanks hyptosis

This is a very old drawing I recently found. I was about 14. I spent a lot of time to get the details. Star Trek was my favorite subject to draw.

Well after viewing some of the outstanding work here I know I am way out of my league. I am not an artist by trade, but a writer and I use art to enhance the writing experience. At present I am on the final draft of my novel and the pics here are a reflection of that novel.

Edit: Please start your own SB and not spam other people's.
