hey hey danke fürs vorbeischauen in meinem SB ^^.

    So long
    Seb

NickyBeats Thanks! I really hope to get there someday.

Aresa Thanks! Glad you liked the 50 gestures.

tehmeh Hey thanks. I will try to work from life more too. For the site, thanks. But at the moment i will stay at posemaniacs i think. The "flow" of the site is just great and at the moment i don't need details in my opinion. Perhaps when i got 1000 posemaniacs i will change to the other sites

    PLeon Thanks

Vertical Thanks! Perhaps it is destiny with the time? ;> For the gestures same as i replied to tehmeh.

Valyavande Nice! Perhaps we can could meet anytime? Little sketching in the city or something like that

    holden caulfield Thanks!

Partisan Woah! :o Erstmal dickes Danke!
    Danke!

    ---------------------------------

Yeah! Thanks for all these replies. Huge amount.
These comments gave me waves of motivation.

So here is my stuff from today.
    55 gestures.
They are sloooowly getting better but the last ones went crappy.
Then anatomy studies after Bammes and a little bit quick non reference stuff.

    Greetings,
    Valoo

    Hello and welcome to CA!
I'd suggest that you do those gestures and figures from photos rather than posemaniacs. Cause I'm sure that's what you're using. Posemaniacs doesn't really have any weight to their models and sometimes the poses are completely awkward. By doing them from photos you get real weight and good forms.

Pose maniacs might be good for anatomy though.. I guess.

    Keep it up though!

Loathsome Not totally new to Ca. Old Account was "Silwynar" and i didn't know that i can change my name. So Emily was so nice to merge this two accounts together.
And ooookay, you guys got me. I will stop using posemaniacs soon... I liked it so much xD With this lovely countdown until the next pose
    Thanks for commenting!

    FightingSeraph Thanks!

    ----------------------------------------------------

Emily was so nice to merge my two accounts together.
I actually didn't know that i can change my name by asking so i created a new account.
Sorry for everyone who thought that i am totally new to ca.org!
    My old account was "Silwynar".

    Greetings, Valoo

PS: Because of a written mistake by myself in the merging requestion my name is now Valun. I hope emily is so nice to change that this evening again to Valoo.

I used to draw a lot from Posemaniacs and while Loathsome was right about the poses, it's hard to find a photo site with so big variety of them. Just my 2 cents but don't stop if you like using Posemaniacs, it still teaches you proportions and is much better than nothing. I think drawing the limbs as cylinders rather than ovals would teach you more about getting the structure down in all kinds of poses though.

Good knee studies too. Keep them coming!

himart Hey thanks! If school and mum wouldn't stop me my hands would bleed soon

Emil_ Thanks! I think i will stay away from color for still over a month. I think building up my traditionel pencil skills will help more.

smuli Thanks dude! You got it totally right. It's just that posemaniacs has DAMN lot poses and there aren't any strange pieces of cloth over their arms or legs to let it look cool ;D
Cylinders for the legs would be awesome, but in these 60 seconds i am not fast enough (yet) to do cylinders. I hope to get faster and be able to apply that.
    Sounds good.
    Thanks!

    ------------------------------

Again, thanks for all these nice comments.
Today i had a totally demotivated phase but i got myself up again fast.

    Here's my stuff for today.
Again 50 poses (okay actually 45, because i wanted to get to -00, -50 datas again. ;P
Then anatomy studies, first knee was drawn when i was demotivatet, haha!
And a portait WIP from reference which turned out pretty good for my level.

    So far so good.
    See you tomorrow

PS: I should draw more. These updates are so damn small in my opinion x_x

Yep, the face looks nice! Seems you looked at the proportions, now do the same with everything else! Btw, the hatching in those Bammes-Knees is a bit arbitrary. Why not use lines first? Like in the portrait, most often they are enough to convey the form. Otherwise try your luck with cubes, spheres and hatch on, follow the form and get more sensitive!

Hey Lukas thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. You asked me if I would recommend the Rotring ArtPen so I thought I would reply here. So far no real problems but then I haven't had it too long. A couple of things to note are it isn't really much different to any ordinary fountain pen. I remembered when it arrived feeling that it didn't warrant the £16.00 I spent on it as it's mainly made of plastic, and when in use the lid doesn't fit on the other end of the pen!

That said though I do enjoy drawing and writing with it. It is light and well balanced for my hand, and produces a very smooth flow of ink. I do not regret buying it but I do think it is overpriced for what it is. I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing what you get up to now you've started a new sketcbook.

    Hey
    Nothing special for today.
    Didn't got the time.

A few figure sketches and a page of legs practiced for the 60 second drawings.

I will show it to you tomorrow with tomorrow's stuff ^_^
    Reply to comments also tomorrow.

TRAP! Thanks dude I hope too that it wasn't a piece of lucky day xD

Junpei Thanks. Would be great to see you someday again

Bethany K. Thanks Bethany. At the moment the ovals are just working great for these quick 60 seconds. I'll have a look what i can do.

~Faust~ Thanks my friend. Glad you finially found one portrait piece good I will try to get clearer with my linework in these studies, etc...

Marian Rowling Thanks for replying. Sounds not that bad. That price is often above the quality is already normal in my opinion. If it has a nice ink flow i will give it a try. ^_^

Valoo Oh damn, can't reply to my own post xD

    ----------------------

So here's the stuff from YESTERDAY.
Didn't got much time yesterday to turn on the pc, so here it is.
Quick "studies" for the 60 seconds one because my teacher told me to give them more form.

    Then little doodling.
I am feeling that my 60 seconds drawings are getting slowly better.

No I'll have to go to work.
50 gestures are waiting for me.
Don't know whether i get the time to update today.
Tomorrow i'll write a german article for school (test). ~.~

    Greetings,

Looks like you already have a pretty good understanding of form and line

I'd suggest taking a break from drawing the figure and do some still lifes. Try to pick objects with protrusions (like mugs with handles). When drawing them, try to internalize the way those protrusions interact with the curvature of the object. It'll really help you with faces!

kiwigarbage Thanks! During the week i don't have so much time, so i will do a few still lifes this weekend i think. :>

    ------------------------------------

Alright, because of learning for school, ... i was only able to draw my 50 60 seconds gestures.
I don't know whether i should be happy or not.
It's good that i kept my daily assigment but bad that it is nothing MORE.

Anyway, TODAY i reached my 200. gesture
    Quiet much for 4 days.
    Learned already a lot.
My lines got ways faster, improved my feelings for line and form.

    So far so good,
    see you tomorrow!

I keep seeing this flaming dragon wail about in the sketchbook thread! Haha...

Draw from life if you aren't doing so already. Is it just me or are your gesture drawings becoming more economical with the line? I've had gesture drawing recommended to me to develop more confident and fewer lines, have you noticed this process happening for you?

When I started back at doing gesture drawing, I found drawing small stick figures helped a lot at the beginning, and then as I got quicker added the flesh before getting bigger. Just remember at your age it is not a race. I also recommend doing still lives if that is the only life drawing you can get.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

MasonJames Thanks! Replied in your sketchbook

BlackSpot Thanks ^_^ I know it's not a race but i want to improve as quickly as possible. I feel safe with the actually progression of the 60 second gestures so why should i slow down? ;D

krysjez Thank you Of course you can still call me Sil, or Lukas, however you want it Already discussed this above. I just like the variety of the site and the site itself (posemaniacs). In the 60 seconds i don't have time to look more into details, so the posemaniac figures are still alright for the beginning.
    Sorry ;D

    -------------------------------

    Noooooo ( .__. ) update for today.
Little doodling while learning, but nothing i would scan in today.
Today was the german test and tomorrow i write an english test in school.
    Wish me luck
At the weekend you will get more stuff i hope.

    Greetings,
    Valoo

    Hello, Sil/Valoo.

Your portrait from ref looks really nice so far! And those joint studies for body parts look fun. It should really help you learn how your body parts move.

Good luck to you. You are progressing well.

I thought about decreasing the 60 second gestures to 25 daily gestures instead of 50 gestures to make myself more time for other subjects like clothing, features, ...

    Clothed figures were from reference.

    Greetings, Valoo

Haha your thread gif lured me in, love it! Keep going man the studies will help! If you've got the resources pick up some traditional paints, messing with the application of those will tremendously help out your digital game. Cheers.

Some nice gesture sketches, but watch the proportions. I wouldn't worry about digital figure painting too much yet.
    Just keep drawing!
