Lot's of tough pieces there.. impressive. That ice dragon would be especially hard to pull off.

Dude, the picture of the dwarf and dead orcs is genius. Seriously man, you have just become one of my favorite artists. The frost giant concept is brilliant, too.

Looking back on it now i should have just started in color, but hey what can you do. I'm learning here and there what methods I prefer over others. This piece is mostly imagination work with a little environment reference. I really enjoyed playing with the colors and environmental mood of this piece, and I think it came out relatively well.

BEAUTIFUL! I love your color and value treatment in this piece. Your process video is also extremely helpful, and very fun to watch.

I have a question regarding when you very first started laying in color on the figure/tree. What sort of color overlay is that? Do you just start laying down color on a new layer that has some sort of weird layer setting?

Keep up the amazing work; you'll go far.

The Bearwarrior is one of the greatest illustrations I've ever seen, honestly! I totally fell in love with it, the dynamic pose, the general composition, the colors... it's a 10/10!

The Escape is cool too, I liked the greyscale more though, the yellow is a bit too much, but thats only my opinion. Non the less, I'll definitely check your site again.

Since I got a few requests to see the process video of Bear Warrior after it was featured on DeviantArt.com's Daily Devations, I figured I would fast-track it onto the interweb. So here it is, the making of the Bear Warrior. Done in Photoshop with a heavy use of the natural media brushes. Read more about the development of this piece in my blog post.

Music by Jeremy Soule - Skyrim Soundtrack.

In photoshop I believe it's actually titled "Overlay" (some other layer effects are titled "multiply" or "hard light" etc., the one I used is "overlay" for that particular section). I actually don't use that method often as it's hard to actually get the true colors your looking for, but it's a good way to manipulate the hues in a piece. In traditional painting it's similar to glazing of sorts.

Interesting and spirited work - you have a good feel for the whole surface and how it might to tell your story.
It's got a quality you don't see very often - internal gravitas.

Wow! Awesome work, man. I love the updates, and thanks so much for the videos. Very insightful.

EDIT: I'm seriously blown away with your style, your design, rendering, painterly feel. You, good sir, have just made it to my "Favorite Artists" list (not that that really means anything to you, haha!).

I love the hands in the first one, and your lighting is fantastic! Not a single complaint, they're all gravy.
