    The Sketchdump of Cea: Redux

I thought I'd remake my sketchbook with some more recent stuff rather than the old stuff I tend to linger on. I need to move on damn it all.

I want to hear what you guys think

    http://auperidot.deviantart.com

Im not much of a digital painter like most here, but Im trying to practice on that

Thanks so much, I know the legs are awkward, but I loved the rest of the painting so much I got a bit tired of working on it! xD My fault completely! Are there any tips you can give me?

Nice work, and your pencil rendering is pretty solid. Keep practicing, and keep drawing from life (if you have been). Also would like to see studies of heads / facial features.

No problem, most all of my pictures have been from life, some have just been distorted (like the octopus one, thats half photo and half imaginatio)

    Hey Carla,
You are doing great, no need to change your subject
matter. Draw whatever interests you, or is exciting.
I don't discourage anatomical or life drawing but
balance is always the right thing when it comes to drawing.

Folds are absolutely exciting to draw. I see you enjoy
drawing the clothing. That's great. Press on my friend.

    Back by popular demand!

I was inspired by Wanimal's style to start cross hatching with pencil (I typically do it with pen) and I was like WHOA it works with pencil too!

I give you, retired Abercrombie and fitch model! I didnt use any references other than the ones in my mind. I had to keep pushing myself for realism and not just good enough. Btw I drew this on the bus home just 30 minutes ago LOL! I can't erase colored pencil, so any errors in the anatomy I just had to work with. We cant all be perfect ya know 8D

some anthro art from last year :)

Tina and Terry, my shark and rabbit

with Tina I tried a harder pose so I dunno if I did it right or not, with Terry i just wanted to show his clothing for future reference, so its not as interesting but you get an idea of how massive he is. Sorry for the lack of line variation Im not much of an obsessive inker

Hey thanks for visiting my sketchbook ! I quite like the range you have, I'd like to see more of your detailed drawings such as the one in the first post that's my favorite one . Your animal drawings are really good too. I like the Janaschi/some else's studies, I may try that too :3

With your anthropomorphic bunny character I'm not too sure, the pose seems a little awkward, it could be because the anatomy is a little wrong, or the proportions aren't working? hmm.

    Either way keep it up!

    head drawings of friends

I drew some of my friends, some were alot harder than others .___. some I couldnt do at all and they got tossed out. Here are the ones I keep in my physical sketchbook as well as this one theyre pretty simple but I wanted to keep them that way (I am often timid to push the limit once I like something LOL, especially faces, but non reference faces I can go all out on and not worry who they resemble anymore )

you know, laptops make great light boxes! LOL

Your rendering in pencil is awesome. I know what you mean about the digital painting, I just started doing it last month. Let's both work hard, okay?

hey there carla, nice start to this sketchbook! youve got a decent grasp on human anatomy, but if you did some more life drawings or some more figure studies, i think you could become a really great figure artist. i guess, i mean to say, just keep on doing what your doing, keep pushing yourself your doing great!
