Thumbs up How much have you improved in a year?

I think I remember seeing a thread like this before, but yes, as the title says, how much have you improved with your art over a year? It is always good to look back and see improvement, I think it is the biggest motivation possible!

Anyway, here is my improvement ( I think my skills in getting my drawings into the computer has gotten worse haha ) :

Last year was more of an 'experimenting' year than anything:

I have not improved enough... i want to be so much better... must keep at it.

2009 has been a poor year art wise. I've done little work. I do think there is some improvement though.

I'd say I could learn a few things from the me of a year ago. While I think that I've definitely grown a lot when it comes to rendering, tactful color use, and line quality in my drawings; the me of last year did a lot more work from imagination and wasn't as bound to his reference. These two things are my resolution for next year.

Damn Liffey, that's some awesome improvement.

The beginning of 2009 was very productive...the end was not. I did a lot of studies but I don't think I improved too much.

I also have a blog post where I painted over something in 2009. I only spent an hour on it though so it's not a great representation. :/

    See it here

With my digital work, I don't think I've improved that much.
However, I think I've improved tenfold with my traditional works.
    Digital at beginning of 2009:
How much have you improved in a year?
    Digital at end of 2009:
How much have you improved in a year?

    Traditional at beginning of 2009:
How much have you improved in a year?
    Traditional at end of 2009:
How much have you improved in a year?

I only count things I have done from mind as the biggest improvements, so I will only post those things I did not use reference to draw because imo those doesn't count as much as drawing from memory does. Although it was first on November the 1st that I started studying for real and understood what studying was all about, before that I was just fucking with myself and did no studies whatsoever.

    No, I don't!

If I were to say I have imporved it would be meaningless due to we are not judged by ourselves but by those who have the gable. And I don't know anyone here with a hammer bigger than mine.

Unfortunately it looks like hit a wall in 2009. I barely improved. I did my best despite all the stuff for university and doing huge architectural thesis project.

    Then:
How much have you improved in a year?

    One month past:
How much have you improved in a year?

What makes it even better is I feel I have already improved exponentially from the above picture in just one month or so. I learn something new every day. Its bliss.

Cool, there is probably a bunch of these type deals around but i always like to see where people came from and where they ended up.

2009-2010 probably about 13-14months between each group

Wow, all the improvements look great guys!

The first image was in Feb 2009. The second image was done during the last week in dec 2009. I got a new computer and tablet back in April and I think that's helped out a lot.

I don't know much about my paintings but if you want to see big improvements then check out my logos. I used to suck at them so much hahaha...

    A year or so ago:

How much have you improved in a year?

How much have you improved in a year?

(Actually the spinny one isn't THAT bad)

    Now:

How much have you improved in a year?

How much have you improved in a year?

I don't know though, I'm still pretty proud of some of the work I did last year. Last year was probably my biggest year for development, much more-so than this year was.
