What I'm interested in, what model is that projector? I'm looking into upgrading mine because it sucks. Any suggestions?

Contra (and a zillion others) are the exact opposite sequence.
Gyruss is the only Konami game that used the code backwards.

Messing up a the sequence a little, understandable.. totally backwards? Gotta be Gyruss.

Yeah, I noticed that a while after I'd posted. In which case, yeah he went for the way obscure. :)

Back on topic a bit, although I'd already said my pieces I thought I'd chip in a lil' more:

As far as commercial work is concerned, if you're getting the job done, if you're not infringing anyone's copyrights, and your client is happy, then you ain't cheating.

As far as personal work is concerned, so long as you're getting something out of it (learning something, improving yourself, or just plain feeling good about yourself) then you ain't cheating.

-My work can be found at my local directory thread.

Well what do you have now and what are you looking to upgrade? The reason I went to these pocket projectors is for the fact that they are LED powered and I don't have to deal with buying new bulbs every few months. Theyre too expensive.

this is the one I have
    http://www.aaxatech.com/products/p2_pico_projector.htm

and it does decently but kinda washes out in light. The reason I have this one is that its portable and battery powered. It also came with a mini tripod.

As far as an UPGRADE, I was thinking about buying the aaxa m1 to use if I had a source of power (extension cable). Its supposed to be twice as bright and still has no bulb...and its 300 bucks.

Oh, and i brought the argument up that it saves materials (painting once correctly) and it was pretty much the most valid point of the night.

I have an artograph tracer so just about ANYTHING is an upgrade short of acting out the image between a bedsheet and a desk lamp. To me the additional advantage of a digital like yours (over the traditional and expensive analog versions which I've seen in art stores) is that I usually do most of my prelim work on the computer so no more printing out the image before projection, This is awesome.

When I saw the title of this thread, I instantly thought of a mural artist my step father knew who would take photographs of animals and blow them up so he could paint them and not have to know a damn thing about anatomy. IMO its lazy, but still not 'cheating'.

Using a projector to blow up your own work or transfer it? It seems practical to me. But maybe I don't fully understand your argument.

There's nothing lazy about completing a mural.

I will be hung for my opinion. So I will cowardly say that using a projector is probably a good idea if you are someone who has the mentality and desire to achieve correctness in 'art'.

Here is my Sketchbook. Please have a look if you have time. Thanks.

Transferring to a wall, that's not cheating.

Putting your signature on someone else's work. That's cheating, that includes using some photographer's stuff without permission.

No one might know about it but don't pretend like that was all you.
