okay well this is what I am working on now and thought I would show it to you all and get any feedback which is always very helpful and very generous of you all. Also I am wondering should I just finish the first version
or should I add the close up and make it more of a character sheet....I know that the close up is extremely rough just a place holder at this point....So Thanks for checking it out and any and all advice/feedback is welcome...
You need to work for more cohesiveness right now everything looks cut out and pasted on. The monochromatic background deosn't mesh with the figure at all. The figures pose is awkward, is she standing or walking? If she is walking her arms are in a weird position, if she is standing her right leg is in a strange position. There is no light in the scene or sense of perspective.
Yeah - put this aside and start drawing.
To my eye the color is too overall saturated and bright, everything is fighting for my attention and making for a very flat look overall. The brilliant red of the background is so intense that it makes everything else incapable of competing, I think you would be better off to tone down the background color or reduce the figure to almost a silhouette.
I agree with the others - if you want to improve (which you seem to) you need to get back to some fundamental study. Not to be harsh but nothing is working in this piece - I know that can be hard to take but if you sincerely want to get better you need to start from the ground up. Good luck to you!
