    J Perols Sketchbook

    Hello.

So the time for me to get one of those sketchbooks has finally come.
Can't find my camera at the time so you will just have to wait for some pics from my sketchbook.
Atleast I can post some of my most recent works from the last week.

Crits and other thoughts are much appreciated.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

A piece I started working on earlier.
But now I don't have any idea what to do with it.
    Any suggestions?

    Lovely sketchbook so far.

I think you should make her into a puppet/marionette. Almost like Pinocchio, make her skin kind of wooden looking but not too much so she looks alive. Possibly some kind seedy red light coming from left so she looks like she's "performing" on a stage.

    Keep up the lovely work.

I like your stuff, the colours, especially the skin colour bugs me a little though. It looks a tad muddy atm. Try studying it form a few fotos and see how it reacts to light.

Good start. I especially like the first pic, the pinocchio one, and the ink sketch of the girl with the fro. It would be nice to see the pinocchio one taken a bit further.

    Janos:
Thanks. Any particular piece you're thinking of? Or all the ones containing skin?
I absolutely gotta start working on my colors.

    Traveler:
Yeah I actually thought about changing the Pinocchio piece to him being washed up on a shore like driftwood.

Couldn't come up with a background so this is how it turned out. Not really sure it's finished yet tough.

Not sure about the composition on this one but I like the concept so will make something out of it, one way or another.

Like what you got going so far.

For the muscle guy be sure to also make the muscles around the neck as developed as the other upper torso muscles.

The scene paints are great and have a good feel to them. The only problem I got from the murder/victim one was that victim needed a bit light to draw attention to them.

Great start ! The fisrt two pieces are badass!

Your rendering could get even better if you vary your brushes a bit more.In some pieces it seems like you use the same round brush with the same size for different materials and effects, that makes it a bit flat in some cases....just a suggestion.

    keep em coming!

There`s some sweet stuff floating around this SB! Love it. Might be a good idea to use other sets of colors for your skin tones. Just a thought, tho

    Keep `em comming!

    Blondebeard:
Yeah I'm going to add lots of more lights/shadows to the crime scene piece.

    Delmar:
Hah, that's actually true, I use the same round brush most of the time.

    PxelSlayer:
Yeah, I'm going to do lots of skin/color studies the next few weeks. I will need it.

And thanks soo mutch guys. I really appreciate it.
    Now, back to work.
