    oh deary photo bucket really messed up the colors on this one...

    well, I guess I'll take suggestions on better image host sites.

    And any other Ideas on this one... I am attempting to get the sense of multiple light sources.

    Slow progress

    So I am finding that this is a little more difficult than I anticipated.

    I'm a little attached to the drawing and it's not too good. I am unable to stay faithful to the drawing and get the sort of looseness I would like out of the painting...

    Also the complex and convoluted subject matter / lighting is not helping.

    Well I'll get it done a little bit at a time.

    Holy BEE-JESUS the colors look way better than photobucket!

    The lighting on the characters doesn't match any of the light sources. It's dark and the primary light source is a big blue moon and yet the characters are lit as if it's dusk and there's sunlight bouncing around everywhere. That kind of strong ambient lighting doesn't happen at night. These guys should be covered in dark shadows, with blue rim lighting from the moon and blue underlighting from the mandala.
