Just call it slooppyy an unfinished her hands are huge
Wow, this thread is simply beautiful, I should give it a try!!!
My sketchbook: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...13#post1006813
seth: I know that high contrast can make for some dynamic images, I do that a lot myself, but I'd suggest maybe try to make things a little less dark, a lot of the image has just disappeared in the darkness. Hope that helps mate
Got some feedback on my mechanic image, so here's the updated version, with added shelf and grime!
So ...erm.. could be fun. A question : would somthing like this be difficult to paint? Alot of these lines are NOT solid. As a newbie to PS I dont know any tricks , just use lasso and wand alot with paintbucket and brush. But thought this would be interesting . Crop it!
theoriginaldave: hehe i saw u wanted ppl to colour yours so i thought id give a shot, colours here are a bit weak but its still wip your updated version above kicks its ass tho
Any fool can know. The point is to understand.
I'm usually a lurker but after seeing all the great stuff on here. Ithought I'd give the stuff I've learned (hopefully) In the digital painting thread a try. I don't think it turned out too badly.... Oh, and thanks to brkofdon's lineart.

I know how to use the tools..... Now I'm trying to learn the right way to use them.
hi all. I'd love to color some of the works here, but I dont know crap about digital painting (I use somewhat medicrily colored pencils) However, I have some linework. Could someone color it?
wow u guys are class at sketches............
i really love your works.
huge resource of inspiration.
Just quick comments today, as work must be done...
life on the sofa: Good start mate, any progress to report?
Abattoir: not bad mate, try to use colours other than white as a highlight though. If you think about the way light works, you'll see that the same light looks different on your hand than it does on your desk, for example.
Ligi: I like the grain you've put on the piece
Hi all this is my first attempt at this, this lineart belongs to Subsonicgerbil,
so far i have just masked everything off and added a color scheme, i will try and paint in some form tommorow. thou i spent so much time masking i should of just painted the whole thing, ohwell next time.
Might as well post it up, worked on it for a little while then ran out of patience. First ever attempt at some Photoshop painting done with mouse. I can't paint metal. :'(
not sure if this belongs here... but i decided to use some of the line arts here to learn and experiment with light and shadows, so i thought i'd post anyhow. didn't dare to colour them because i really suck at choosing colours. Maybe someday
Still got lots to learn... T_T
Line art by Legato and Mykro respectively.
Played around with some paintbrushes by m@ too.
Haven't done this in a while. But we're here to learn, right?
Get to work.
Arimus: i love your scnd one.
Cloxboy: the redish part looks good for me.
i think the blue is far too intensive,
also the blue light would effect the left side of the face.
Thanks for the comments ligi. I'm not sure what you mean by "the blue light would effect the left side of the face". If you're talking about the blue light's line of sight, I don't think the angle I have the blue light at (nor the general source) would hit much of the left side of the face. Currently, the light is hitting the right plain of the head, albeit at a somewhat an undefined angle towards the lower half, but it's definitely not going to hit the left plains of that face. Just observing it, the blue light hits too much of the overall surface of the forms it's hitting from the left If I had thought it out more, the light would only be visable at the very edges of all the left-most shapes/forms and be much more intense than I have made it.
The piece I colored is not exemplary of good coloring, nor was it up to my standards as a "completed piece" when I posted it. I figure, at this level, it's a good way to test the waters. I've found a base level example of ones abilities is the best type of work for threads like these. It's the fundamentals that are being showcased here, so I provided a snap shot, rather than a masterpiece.
Get to work.
Alright, so I'm giving this a shot, here is some lineart that was posted earlier by Kliment
I'm rusty at this, and hopefully I can improve my color/painting skills. It's rushed a bit sorry, but this is my first go at this in a long while.
Suggestions/Critiques are welcome.
Wow, nice detail on the first one.
Well, I definitely don't claim to have colored it better than you did, but here's how my color attempt went.... Neat design of the character though, I like the organic staff-like thing she has.
Pulled this one from about 6 pages back. My first time coloring someone else's lines so I decided to experiment a bit. I really need to branch out more.
Really nice drawing from Evildisco -
@Nibs -> Nope, your's looks betta! Thanx.
