    Thanks again dude!

Even better than the last one.....I think the hair is probably my favorite bit - great highlights, but also like the way you did the hands and the gun.

Her expression is much better as well.

Now all you have to do is post some lineart so i can repay the favour

Idiot Apathy+Mull: I see what you mean, with hindsight (and coffee) I can see a different colour choice would have been better.

Awesome colours Idiot Apathy, the second version looks brilliant!!

All the effort's worth it in the end, especially if you said you learnt something while doing it.

    Anyway, here's DavetheOriginals:

Lineart from way back :: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...postcount=1753

I tried a new technique. It took me actually only two to three hours, and it's WAY better than any of my other digital colorings. I used Painter 8, and the Oils-Round Camelhair brush (various sizes and opacity), This time I resisted the temptation of smudging, and I'm glad I did .

Though I don't think my lightsource is all that consistent...

Right, I started out just piddling around with my new dual monitor setup, then evolved into trying out a modified blender I made... then ... I just started doodling while making fun and wierding out the folks in CA.org's IRC...

now I'm tired and confused... just like the picture...

The pose just came to me, in delirium. Thanks again mull77!
Edit: Looks a bit flat now that I look at it.

edit: (Here's hoping my new monitor is calibrated proper)

    That is so cool!

He really looks like he's giving it all. The purple back light even makes him look like he's in a kareoke bar.

    Great lines sunny:

@DieOxin: Hey thanks a lot, it's really great to know I'm progressing. You should post even the work you don't think is very good. It's too hard to try and figure everything out on your own. I'm not so great but I'll try and give you as much advice as I can.

Todays effort at being slightly productive:

Lot of fun, felt like using orange. Orange is great ! I went back in several times and made the shadows darker, I'm kind of pleased about how the lighting turned out, still problems though.
Thanks for the lines Sunny, I'll be getting familar with some more of them soon.

Crits, Comments, Questions or just plain anything greatly appreciated.

joemomma95: Glad you liked it! What did you use to colour it?

Idiot Apathy: You're keeping this thread alive dude! Love the colour job on the pig as well. Your skin tones seem to have improved a lot recently.
What brushes do you use for the hair?

I'd post a few more myself, but i'm getting married at the weekend so i don't have a whole lot of time

?! What is this? ? Huh?! ? I am soooo telling your fiance. Joking aside congrats mate !

Thanks for the complements man, means a lot. The hair in most of my pic's lately is Painter's Detail Oils Brush under Oils. I think I may have modified it a bit though. I use it near the end for well, details as well. This time I tinkered around with the scratchboard rake making it into a blender and messed the hair up a bit. I think the progess I'm making in skintones is due to using some references at times and studying other artists takes. Still very confusing at times though...

Right well got tomorrow off too, see what I can do~

Sigh, I dunno. I'd call this one unfinished. Heart wasn't in it, I think it was the composition... everything about it leads your eye out of the picture, your eyes don't want to see what's going on. I guess this lead to no motivation. Well good practice none the less; thanks Shelldragon for the lines ! Sorry I didn't do it justice.
*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

@DieOxin: You've got a pretty good feel of lighting on the Cowboy Zombie, however watch out on things like the lining of the boots and the belt buckle, they don't change with the lighting. The streaked lighting and the three toned background bug me a bit, seems just a bit random and doesn't do much for the subject.
I think you did an awesome job on the background of Dave's Dia de los Muertes pic and real fun colors all through-out. However you only shaded some things? The really dark purple shading on the frog doesn't show up right on the feet.
Anyways, shut me up if I'm making an ass of myself, don't get discouraged; keep working and keep posting !

From the last page Sw!tch's lines.
*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

I don't quite like the color harmony, or lack there-of... I think it's the background... maybe the green? Probably both... The hand is my favorite part, odd because it took only a minute or two. Thanks Sw!tch, good fun; now post some more lines ! That goes for everyone

IdiotApathy .. As always love the criticism .. an yea your right about the frog ... I did colour some parts .. its unfinished .. I forget what I was toying around with when I did the shading .. I think I might fiinish it again another day .. but for now .. back to pencils again .. and the cowboy .. I wanted the buckle and the boot lining to shine .. it was purposely done .. i think thats how you spell it .. I am trying to get this whole texture thing down .. that and the fact that I don't have a comp at home right now kinda make it hard to keep up with the practice .. hopefully I'll get one soon .. for now ..
    MORE LINES !!!!!
IdiotApathy .. you should have fun with this one

Nice, I didn't think anyone would ever color those drunk-inspired lines. Good color choices overall, I thought I'd probably do cyan or babyblue as the background as well. I like just the little hint of yellow tint on the toilet too. There are some good hue changes in the shadows on the monster as well, I think the highlights could use a little more hue change or just plain oompf. The one think I really would like to see however is the cyan reflected on the subjects, the toilet (a shade of white) would reflect most the the light cast on it so it would have some strong cyan in it and the monster probably just a little.

All in all good job and thanks a lot for coloring my lines !

Welp, classes start up again this week so my free time is going to bottom out; hopefully I can find some free time inbetween learning art to learn about some art here and do some coloring.

Everyone... flood the thread with lines to tempt me away from schoolwork!
