Hey seven 11, some advice- In photoshop, to color lines, you set the lines on a top layer, and set the layer to the Multiply funciton. I odn't think you can use the fill tool, but It's the ebst way. What it does is makes all the white area transparent to the lower layers. =D

Thanks go to DieOxin for the lines:

@DieOxin : I for one drool all over High Res (and I still increased the size to paint), however... I think it would be appreciated if you posted a smaller one as an image and a high res as a link, right everyone? It's too huge to view properly!

Some new thoughts on this one, fun of course... you might be able to tell that I started out on the arm... I was just testing out some idea's and decided to finish with them from then on. The composition then became about the shoulder and the face so the axe's ... kind of got ... the ... [bad pun alert !] axe.

Idiot Apathy - I noticed that the arm close to the left hand .. the shadow cuts into the wrist making it look smaller than normal .. was that intentional .. I love your colour choice still ... might do an overpaint .. not really good with photoshop yet ... but worth the shot ...

Hmm, result of poor lighting I suppose. Should have darkened and dulled the pants a little to bring the hand out a bit.

Please by all means, overpaint ! Take it away, we're all here to learn and sometimes theres more to learn from someone elses mind; so we could both potentially benefit here ! Or at least just have some fun.

    Cheers !

2nd attempt at Dave's lines back on Page 29

On the verge of a new theory here; could be great... I'll let you all know if it's correct after I've had the chance to fully test it out.

    Thanks again Dave !

    Dave's lines

Some more traditional medium to throw in here. Dave's lines from a few pages back. I just got around to replacing my skin tone Prismas and Trias, so I was eager to use them. Hope I did your lines at least a little justice, Dave.
*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

I think the shadow is lacking... I definately need to get back into the swing of things with these Prismas, I'm out of practice.

Edit: Decided to do another. This time Loch's lines.
*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

All in all... I like the way this one looks, and I definately liked the lines I was workin' with (Nice job, Loch) Just trying to get the much needed practice with Prismas.

Errr.... as you can tell, I dig redheads

Ahhhhhhhh, so many details.... so little time and patience, failure.

O'well, some great practice before I head off to work; if you can't tell I spent most of my time and effort in the skintones, and then I wandered off when I got to the details, some stuff blends together way too much, hard to decern this from that... sigh.

Cheers go to Magicgoo on this round: Check out the Original Lines back on page 27.

Many thanks for the high res !

*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

Can't say baby blue is really much of a misfits kind of color...

Perhaps a tad saturated and a tad too glossy, o'well I'm still happy.

Crits & Comments greatly appreciated !

Great lines DieOxin; really enjoyed them...
Sorry I kind of unintentially edited them.

I didn't intend to go anywhere with this; so tired... long day at work. But I ended up half... sort of ... finishing; quite roughly so. Ended up a really fun quickie.

Definetly going to have another go at these lines, especially since I forgot to get the High res...

So; after learning a bit about color I felt confident enough to try out a new style and some new brushes. Me like... I'll stick with this for awhile see what I can learn.

*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

Crits, Comments, Sucker Punches Greatly Appreciated !

P.S. @DieOxin: She has such a wonderful expression. GIVE ME MORE LINES ! . . . heh. Now that I start to look at it, I think the part in her hairline needs to be a little more to the right to be centered with her head.

Edit: BUWAAA ! Why didn't I do anything with the forehead gem... man I told you I was tired.

2nd Attempt: Took some more time on this one; still some stupid errors but I'm fatigued now...

I took some liberty with the lines again... it just sort of happens...

*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

You should have finished the lines DieOxin !

Hmm, I think I like my first attempt better... in some ways.

Hmmmmmm.... can't say I've ever heard of such a thing... it's a bit of everything really.

Here's a tut that touches on it briefly; it's written by Jason Manley... odd that it's from another site...
    http://www.gfxartist.com/features/tutorials/7714

Pretty advanced though, can't say I've even begun to attempt it.

@ Odiferous Welp & Groove Zombie:

Although I appreciate the praise, these lines are not of my making. I do however know the person who drew them ( finally- after PMing OW and telling him I didn't know, I contacted the website owner) and they are OK to use as far as coloring, in fact the drawing is part of a tutorial on coloring. I liked the drawing so much that I had to post it here, lol- I know that is probably frowned upon by some, but hey, it's a damned good drawing- and I did color it. I only wish I could do lines that well. No, Dave Cousens is the real hero of this here thread, along with the other line artists posting their brilliant stuff...I am but a mere student of those people.

I tried this one from Dave recently:

*New Media Coloring Book Vol. 2*

I'm still trying to keep my shadows from looking splotchy, which is plainly visible here. I'll try and find some time to color some of the newer lines. Cheers!
