DR_SP0CK: Glad you liked the lineart! I like the version you did on the right best, it looks more moody.

Kakikukeko: Wow! Nice job. I love how expressive your painting is there. Nice choice of colours too.

Spacey: Good stuff. You’ve definitely picked up the mood I was going for.

Thanks for colouring the stuff guys, I was really pleased with all of the jobs you did!

so here's a coloring oriented question..? And if I am outta place in this thread asking just ignore me. Looking at yesterday mornings color job and thinking; I take occassional forays into Painter8 since I paid for the silly thing and dangit I want my money's worth but am I looking for something I've already found with photoshop? or is there more pontential to be exploited in painter?

edit : hmm did I kill the thread? *pokes thread*

well... i got inspired by socom 2 and just started drawing this ghetto slum... and than did what i do best. add in giant robots and a few guys with guns (or had them) this isn't finished and has basically been cropped in half, but i posted now due to some posting pressure on deviantart and figured i would give you guys a early shot at it. ill probably add in another mech like they have been air dropped or something, nothing ground breaking. i am not even going to try coloring this, as i know for sure ill mess it up... ill just get to work on something better. if anybody wants to take a shot at this, be my guest, i had in mind a lot of rain, a ton of clouds and the mechs shining spot lights down into the buildings. the guys would have glowing red eyes... i've got a great mental image, and if anybody would work on it... i would love you forever. my inking sucks on this.. basically i was using a 005 for the entire thing so... yeah. as for the huts, basically they are all made from cinder blocks, plywood, or if there are lines going through it, that wavy sheet metal stuff. anyway... sorry for the blinding white sky, i had to clear up a lot of bad erasing marks and took out a few lines and missed a few things i should have nailed. anyway, have fun with it!

When I saw the line art for this one I couldn't help but think of Patrick Nagel's work. So, I tried to color it accordingly. If you don't know Nagel ... you probably weren't around in the 80's.

Here's the witch elf babe... I'm not entirely thrilled with the hair, but I had to put this one away cause I was overworking the rest of it. Maybe I'll get back to it sometime.

I keep sitting down to do something more painterly, but I always end up preserving the line work... oh well, next time.

Lance, I like your stuff personally. Its detailed enough to look cool, but simple enough for coloring newbs like me to practice on. I posted a colored version of one of the faces you posted earlier.
Im currently working on your Graphetti Man pic and will post it soon.
Be nice, until its time to not be nice.

No new lineart i found interesting so i grabbed the old classic

i cheated a bit on the dunes though as you might notice (they're not drawn) i tried making them by hand but its impossible to do with a mouse.

I could work on this alot more but unfortunately im going away for a week so i thought i'd better post it before i leave.

Here's one that's about a year and a half old now, started it for a college project that got scrapped, so never got around to finishing it.

Feel free to do whatever you want with the buildings in the background by the way! I trust you all!

Hope you all like it. Have fun!
