    Keep drawing. Keep studying. Don't be scared to copy other artist's work for practice (just make sure you indicate the same). If you're into comic art then find the biggest sized images you can and practice with those. Almost all comic artists work at about one and a half times print size so don't kill yourself over trying to work out every little detail you see in a printed comic.

    I stumbled across these "Wednesday comics" and snatched them up for this very purpose:

    You can get them on ebay or other online sellers for reasonable prices. Or, if you're counting your pennies try out this Google images link for nice big samples of the same:

    Thanks for the words of encouragement. These are all 3-5 years old, (my how the time flies) I'll have to post some newer stuff.

    As for comic art, yes I personally use 11x17 bristol board. I believe DC is still using even larger sized boards, though I don't recall the exact size.

    I used to emulate guys like Jurgens and Grummett when I was starting out. I still look up to guys like Lee, Benes, Basaldua, etc, though direct copying at this point in my career is a bit of a no-no.
