Hey Dude, I really admire your dedication to doing one of these a day, it's really commendable that you just crack open the sketchbook and produce full colour stuff like that.
I can be really lazy with painting. I love it but I often sit there and just cant be bothered dragging all the paint out so I do monochrome or worse. . . nothing at all!

    Keep it up!

TheButterBunny: heyyy man, thank you very much. you know, what helps me is to keep my working material very accessible. Sometimes what bothers is when you have to go around looking for all the stuff and setting it all up just to sketch something.

thats why im training with acrylics, is an easy-to-setup media. you just open a blank page, drop a ground and start painting, it dryes up right way, you just clean your stuff with water and thats it .
so, try to keep it all easy to access and to set up. i hope it helps

    Hiya Zed

I would love to work in oils, only it is something I will have to teach myself. I began working in acrylics some years ago because it was cheaper and if I failed it wouldn’t have cost me an arm & a leg so to speak.

I have reached a comfort level with acrylics but now it has become ingrained in me. It’s hard to swap over to oils now.

Anyway, GREAT start to your work. With Acrylics you can put paint right on the board, and 3 minutes later add something else while leaning right against what you’ve just painted ( leaning against your work is just the laziness in me coming out).

Acrylics give newcomers the options of learning about color without wasting money on expensive oil paints. Looks like you are doing well with the medium.

    Enjoying the portraits, Bruce

Hi! Pretty good pieces on your website!
In your painted sketches here the strongest ones are when you simplify shapes and play with contrasts.
    Keep posting!

I'm feeling those man, I like that style, you are also good at choosing your topic(face), most of those faces are interesting in their shape and features.. no average joe faces(not that i'm hating regular type of faces.. but i find that kind of stuff to be quite refreshing and interesting).. You're a good boy, for keeping it updated daily. good job, keep going.

Great stuff man. You should be making sure to do some anatomical head studies, but these color pieces show a lot of promise. keep up the good work.

Awesome paintings man, i really like how you've been using tribal African people in your work, makes for a unique feel. The lighting in a lot of the paintings is really nifty as well, anyways keep up the work!
