    a picture of my friend.

    1. I wanted to work on something that involved fabric. Drawing wrinkles and stuff.

    2. A couple ads from Sports Illustrated

    3. Gina Carano, I don't know, I wanted to try a new technique, with mostly drawing straight lines. I didn't invest much time into it. Which is sad because she is hotness. Sports Illustrated.

    4. The next three are from from my Bridgman book. I have quite a few of these, but most of them sucked to much to show. So here are the best of those.

    7. I don't remember her name, but she was in also in a Sports Illustrated.

Really fast scribbles, Bridgman, and Walmart parking lot.

    1. Part of a fast sketch, while I was waiting on my roommate to get out of work.

    2. Same, but different car, and some sketches of different parts of my face through the rear view mirror.

    3. Bridgman studies. I need a lot of work on those. Gotta buckle down on that.

    4. This is still a wip. It has been really tricky for me, but it seems to be coming together.

    5. The same page as the first, but more of it.

Sorry some are hard to see. The light isn't the greatest for my camera. let me know if you have any suggestions for that.

    Some more!

    1. Referenced from a photo. wip

    2. More Walmart parking lot sketching, including a self portrait using my rear view mirror. I didn't have a lot of time for detail. I was just trying to do what I could as fast as I could.

Keevy, I don't beat around the bush so I'll be on point.

    Great studies and personal drawings.
Drawing is hard, learning to become brings a lot of frustration and grey hairs but if you keep working hard, develop a discipline and patience you WILL get good at it, that is my promise to you.

Embrace failure and learn from your mistakes.

Draw from life. Learn to see angles and values of light and learn to constantly compare.

Try to find some kind of method to learn by. When you know what to do then it's all about doing it with concentration. There are ton of great books which have a system in place. To name one is "Figure Drawing designing and invention" by Michael Hampton.

Learn to love frustration and the plateau. The discoveries come in spurts and die fast. The more you learn the more enjoyable it becomes.

Try drawing longer lines. It will take time but it will improve your work.

Learn the basic foundations which are at times boring and remember that a house built on strong foundation will sustain an earthquake.

Learn anatomy by copying Bridgman, learn the muscles and bones from an anatomy book and learn the mechanics of the body. Learn perspective and form. Learn to see values.

Do your own research and remember, what worked for me doesn't necessarily mean that it works for you. Find your way and be honest.

    Hard work pays off.

    All the best!

"Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway."

    ugh

I draw a lot today... a lot of trash. but I did manage to get a little bit accomplished on this today. yup. still a wip.

I bought my little hand held mirror today, for self portraits. Its sad how brutally honest a self portrait can be. well if I do any better tomorrow, ill post my ugly mug up.

    bleh

been trying to work on self portraits. By its self is fun, but mix it with quitting cigarettes... it becomes stressful.

Its not the greatest stuff. but better then I expected.

I've been studying some Bridgman tonight.

my friend a little touched up, I don't know how I feel about it. and some mirror stuff. I'm getting more comfortable with the self portraits, but they: do show how F*$% up my face is.

    completely out of my element.

Sorry for the delay, I tried to post these up last night, but I didn't get a chance to because of the super bowl.

I'm trying to change up the way I'm drawing, i.e. using longer strokes. (As suggested by Jussi Tarvainen) So I have been focusing more on accuracy, and my lines, Hence the limited/no shading.

Also... I started the 30 second gesture drawings on http://posemaniacs.com/ for the first time EVER. So... yeah, be kind as far as that goes, I know they're not that great. Ill be doing them everyday as warm ups before I start drawing, I think that will help me out.

Also, The first picture is still a wip
    Thank you.

    Im done talking now.

not much to show right now. Im still working on that portrait, and I'm having a terrible time with the eyes. So, Im sitting down and busting out some eye studies.

I did my gestures to, but your not going to see those.

    GESTURES!!!

    Improved my self portrait.

Some more eye and hand studies,

    GESTURES!!!

Just in the last 3 days I have busted about 50 pages of gesture drawings. I picked a few I thought were the best. Hopefully soon, I can turn these into more then scribbles.
    Thank you.

    Hey there,

thanks for posting in my SB, thought I'd return the favor ^^
Got some nice anatomy sketching here, just remember now to keep an allround view on the other aspects as well ^^ Perhaps study some perspective, draw some buildings etc. You know, the works ^^

Enjoy the process and keep drawing

good work so far. keep up on the studies. actively think about how the forms you draw actually work in 3d, that'll help you with imagination drawings. keep it up.

    Okah

1.The screaming dude! I decided not to shade him, Right now I want to focus more on form and accuracy before start getting to shading.

2 and 3. Bridgman studies. I think I'm gunna work on those for the rest of the week. Ive been slacking on those.

    4 and 5.Yesterday's Gestures

    6 and 7Today's gestures.

For now on I think I'm gunna limit my gesture posts to 1 or 2 at a time.

I don't know, what do you think?

Liffey, thanks for the advice. Ill keep that in mind
    Gamerhomie, thanks for stopping by!

    Thank you.

Since starting the gestures your line work has gotten soo much more confident! woot. Only thing I can tell you from what you've done so far is to think perspective for everything. The eyes and nose and mouth and hairline and chin all have the same angle (usually, only in extreme perspective does it change). nice stuff though I like the gestures. keep posting!

I don't have much to show, haven't had much time to actually sit down and get any work done, but I did manage to squeeze some gestures in. Hopefully with any luck, I can get something worth showing tomorrow.

    2. A sad drawing of tom waits. a quick self portrait, and a dog statue.

    3 wip

I promise I'm still doing my daily gestures. I just didn't get to scanning them today. I'm sorry.

    I feel good about this!

Started this one after work today, and I am feeling good about it.

I pretty much lined out things. I shall begin shading tomorrow feeling fresh! Now I am going to read The Shining!

    Thank you.

    Hey kneevy39!

Thanks for commenting on my SB!

I just looked at your and I love how you have the balls to use a pen when you do gestures and focus on the line.

    Keep up the hard work.
