    update

got some more studies, got to do alot more of these!!! Trying to build up more and more of a momentum of work, again all comment welcome

Again looking at some figurative studies, I usually feel as though my figures are quite stiff and lifeless, attempting to draw lots of dynamic poses. 6 minutes per pose (trying to get faster!!)

Here's a page of heads, again done from observations at about 8 minutes each

that's it for now, hopefully in my next post Ill start adding some colour stuff like some paintings and speedies. Cheers everyone

I'm digging those eyes, and your anatomy is fantastic. Your line quality is also improving already. You might try coloring by overlaying color over the value drawing, since you seem to be more comfortable using value than color at this point.

    update

Ghast: Thanks man, eyes have been a particular struggle for me in the past, so its cool to know that people see them as looking good. As for my line work I feel as though I cling to that too often I must attempt to do more tonal studies with shading and such, but again nice of you to notice its improving. For what you said about tonal rather then colour your dead right, im generally more comfortable with tone, colour scares me man!! Its something Im trying to address, im going to try a series of techniques, including overlay to see how its fairs, thanks for the advice man

Heres a small update of some colour stuff, because I generally put it off way to much and I thought Id boot my own ass to do some

Heres an experiment of something from imagination

thats it for now, cheers everyone

    Hey,
very nice pencil work, especially with faces.
I also like your latest environments. I think you could work a bit more on value range though. It would look better if there were some really dark and very light areas.
Recently I've been watching a lot of tutorials from conceptartmasters.com, for example there is a great tutorial about painting an environment: http://conceptartmasters.com/class/ - really worth watching!

They be some shit hot birds dude! Those environment speed thumbnails be shit hot too. And every batch of environment thumbs that you do, they get better and better.

Also loving the colour environment / city / children sitting on wall imagination piece - you gonna take it further?

I see you had a spurt of activity of here a little while ago. If you are still pushing out any 3D stuff, set up a Polycount thread. I plan to run one alongside my CA at some point soon, trying to get Butler and Luxton on there too. I'm about halfway through my box of tutorials atm.
