The Dark Knight Returns = highly overrated

I was hearing a lot of good things about this graphic novel, and I love Batman so I gave it a read.
    So disappointed.
Seemed like random events strung together at points. Is that good writing?
    I don't think so.
It's hard for me to articulate what I'm trying to say maybe someone else knows what I mean.

I haven't read this in a while, but I don't remember a single part of it that seemed like random events. Maybe the part with Green Arrow was a little weird, but everything that happened, happened as a result of Batman Choosing to come back. The Joker woke up from a Coma, two face came back and then superman had to come in to try and control Batman.

Now Frank Miller's later work like The Dark Knight Strikes Again and All Star Batman were abortions that had no reason to exist, and made me loose a lot of respect for Frank Miller. The Spirit Movie that came out last year made me loose the rest of my respect for him.

I've never read any of his books, but I have heard how bad All-Star Batman was on I-Mockery.

Well, I'm not willing to totally dismiss it based solely on the subject matter. Who knows, maybe it will be an insightful commentary on the nature of war propaganda? Based on everything Miller has done since the Sin City books, however, I'd say this is likely to be a peice of crap that is both poorly drawn and unneccessarily offensive.

Here's what one of the guys at I-Mockery has to say about the Robocop comic based on Miller's Robocop 2 script:
