    Cole's Sketchbook, Trying to attain

Hi everyone my names Cole, I'm 17 years old and in my senior year of highschool. I've been lurking here for a few years now, finally manned up and got the nerve to start a topic.
I've been drawing since I was very young, its really my passion and I want to get better, and get a job in art!

The first one is a portrait I did last year, I also threw in two sketchbook pages of mine, and a picture of a women i think from a loomis book.

The last 3 are ones I did this weekend, inked and then water colored all from my head.
And the last ones a pastel I did about the same time as the portrait of the old man.

Oh and sorry I'm using a digital camera atm...my scanner died on me a while ago.

Here are those two painted, and a few more from my sketchbook.
And sorry I'm using a digital camera...which isn't the greatest apparently.

Hey man, nice to see someone the same age around here (but you're a grade ahead). I see some nice work and I think your hands are your best, but your work is kinda outliney. Try working less with line and more on tone. And let's see some anatomy studies! Keep it up dude

    good but

nice ideas, but you need broader range of subject matter like environment to characters and so on
Need more shadows, observation sketches always are a pro in my book
keep drawing everyday and write down any thing that goes through your head
it helps the flow of ideas as u progress in skill and age

Eddieee: Hey man, thanks for stopping by. 17 too that's cool, yeah I do more line stuff in my work on here so far, those hands were all for contours because I might have put them on another paper and make a collage. I did some more studies since I do need to do that more!

teddy007kong: Thanks for the tips man, yeah I'll keep drawing everyday! got to get better some how!

So here is some studies, and a quick 10min ink and color and a finished ink/watercolor of that hand one.

wicked ! i think some long still life sessions would be really usefull (simple is always better, it gives you a bit more room for learning about your medium/light/situation )

    keep up the hard work

    looking forward to more !

Haven't posted in a long time, I graduated high school and am now going to the Academy of art, in SF for Illustration. I'm also 19 now as of April!

I took my first Figure drawing class 2 semesters ago, and took another of the semester that just ended. Along with many other art classes.

First a charcoal Portrait I did for a final in my first semester. Some 2-5minute figure drawings.

Here is a atmospheric I did, then I shaded it in markers and changed the values around in Photoshop.
Then here is a Pelvis study from a photo, in charcoal..and a anatomy leg study.
And 2 figure drawings, of the back 5min each.

Here's another doodle, and my first 2 attempts at digital painting.

Also messed around a little in alchemy. Each one was suppose to represent a word, like Painful. Strength, and Mystical.
