the skeleton's "ärm" look extremely long and some of the proportions, like the lady in bikini, looks a bit off.
are these asignments or random sketches? thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the quick observations! These are just sketches. My friends and I got together and started a 24 hour Draw-a-thon, just non stop life drawing session for the art department.

Hey Mike! You've got some nice work in here. You're figure studies are nicely drawn and getting better rapidly.
I think you could stand to make use of reference for your illustration assignment. The falling figure's body is contorted impossibly. The perspective, anatomy and lighting are all inconsistent. All the professional illustrators find or shoot their own reference, so there's no shame in doing it! The color in the skateboarding piece is also really chalky/washed out.
That's a pretty stiff critique, but I'm only being so tough because I think the idea has real potential! Your other work shows that you have the skill to bring it up to a higher quality.
Keep up the good work!

Geisha Prelim Sketch
I will be illustrating a geisha for my current illustration. This is the sketch that I came up with, and what I'll be painting in photoshop. I just saw that the neck is too long, so I'll be shortening it in the painting process. Any other tips or ideas?

First Step of my next illustration
This is my sketch for the beginning of my next and last illustration. I did a lot of research on this one, particularly in the roots of trees. I looked at banyan trees mostly. Im going to paint it in photoshop and leave all of the inked lines, and have very pastel/watercolor type colors.

Hay Kungfumike your life drawings look great as for the photoshop practices they look a little bland theirs only like one gradation pattern which means your not finding all the specific patches of colors and smaller shifts of tones in the flesh two artist to look at to see kind of what im talking about are Cole and Cezanne. Heres a asmall piece i threw together to show u
Cezanne is a bit more extream and coles is a bit rough but its just to get the idea across

Relaxing Under the Tree
Assignment: Interpret the phrase 'My favorite place growing up was...' This illustration is pen and ink with color in photoshop. I had fun painting this image, but I wish the illustration assignments weren't so personal. I will never get a personal illustration job out in the real world.

Currently taking an online Digital Studio Techniques class. I see some huge improvement here compared to the other faces I've been painting. We are for our assignments supposed to do a master study, then an original based off of what we learned doing the master study, every week, for 6 weeks. Great class.
