    Chow 185 :: Snowflake Faeries

    ROUND #185 :: Snowflake Faeries

    DESCRIPTION

    Snowflake Faeries

    How do snowflakes fall to gather in fluffy white drifts upon the ground? Gravity? Of course not! Each individual snowflake has to be guided personally and specifically by a snowflake faerie.

    Snowflake faeries come in many different breeds - some meant for peace, some for war.

    The blizzard faeries sole purpose is to drive their tiny, individual sharp snowflakes of DEATH into the unwary eyes of random passerby!!!!!

    The flurry faeries are much more friendly.

    NOTES:

    - Design a snowflake faerie, though you might want to keep a particular kind of snow in mind...
    - Male or female

    Yay....my first chow!
    Started some thumbs just playing with concept. The idea of a faerie riding a snowflake and roping others in seemed amusing. I'm kind of unsure with the direction going to go though with the final.

    I should be doing something else, but I don't think I can help it. I just might have to do this. Bummer. Faeries are my favorites anyway

    Ah I love fairies/faeries haha, this is definitely a theme of my liking! (8
    My first chow...Im kind of intimidated by all of you amazing artists.
    deep breath.

    Just a sketch so far. I looked up different types of snow and one site described flurries as being 'playful' and I couldn't help but imagine little children snow faeries whooshing around, dancing playfully with a snowflake haha~

    nefgoddess: Those designs are looking great so far. Love how the faces are designed with the personality in mind.

    Bellachime: She looks adoribly cute. I like childish interpretation of fairies.

    My new year's resolution is to finish the things I start. I hope I don't blow this one too quickly.

    I'm in crunchmode at work at the moment, so there probably won't be any time.. but I if I can find a litte spot I'll be making a demonic female blizzard fairy.

    Tuner people, not Turner.

    A mind that wanders so much, it brings back souvenirs.

    Hello! I am a newbie here, and even though I am extremely intimidated by all the great artists, I am going to attempt this CHOW.

    Just stumbled upon this site this weekend and I am very impressed by the quantity of the site and the quality of the artists!

    I'm picturing a fairy in a sleek, sharp looking snowflake, piloting it at extreme speeds. "Stay on target! STAY ON TARGET!"

    Take a look at my series of in-depth critiques, like this one of Salvador Dali's hidden portrait of Lincoln.

    Scott's Sketchbook: Check out my sketchbook. Will swap C&Cs.

    Rough sketch

    Here is the idea I am going to go with... Two snow faeries (sans wings for now) dancing around an ice fire celebrating the first snowfall. I am doing everything from initial sketch to final painting. Crossing my fingers it all goes well!

    I liked this idea. I kinda want her to be floating down with the snow flake. Giving her a sense of being extremely light. Im working on this pose.. Im gonna gather some reference after Im happy with the idea. Im also trying to have her looking down.. as to see where shes heading. This head position always kills me.. Im definetely gonna need reference for that part
