My name's Renée, and right now I'm in my second year at college, studying Communication & Multimedia Design.
And this is my sketchbook. Hopefully it will help me suck less
A couple of 1-minute sketches from Posemaniacs: (Just a sample though. I got tons more)

i think your sketchs are good!
good start to your sb, nice animal sketches,
Nice sketches Keep drawing everyday and store those drawings deep in a drawer (or in the early pages of this page)... when 2 or 3 months have gone by, get them back and you'll see by yourself
Hey Man Keep at it! Im prob just as a newb as you are! but your doing great! Can you check out my thread? It aint the greatest but I need some feedback!
Oh yeah you see the posemaniac drawings you did, just a lil advice its best to loosen it up a bit! you'll get better results! I used to draw the exact way, but when you loosen up you will get better results trust me!
lhazar: Thanks, and I was planning on doing exactly that . I think I'll keep the earlies sketches online in this sketchbook, it always kinda bugs me when I look at other people's sketchbooks and find out they (or their image host) has removed most of their earlier works.
Diarum: Yeah, I was pretty happy about the birds as well. And I'm not usually happy with my work
Twan: Thanks for the tip, I'll try to keep that in mind next time
mpdpsy: Thank you ^^
kthcore: Heh, and I already thought I was loosened up quite a bit considering it was a 1 minute drawing every time. But I'll try. Thanks for stopping by

good and work man
I wish I could have a sculpture to study it
you try to make lot of views, it's good
The problem is that the head is not always on the same view than the torso
I try to correct and show you mistakes
also you should improve your rendering, shadows and lights, there are too much white on your drawings
and get rid when you finish your drawings of the contour and just render light and shadows
this is a good sculture draw by dorian iten, the rendering is really good, you understand now what I mean ?
cheer up !
Look's like a good start. The diversity of your subject matter is great. Keep on going!

Twan: You're very good at giving advice, so thank you for that
One thing about the sculpture though, the light in that particular picture didn't come from left-behind, but left-front. But if people can't tell from the drawings, it's my fault and not theirs
Purplegoat: Thank you :]
(Ended up unfinished )
(A bit of a failed life drawing attempt on the train.)
Oi, what do you mean "failed" ? Don't be silly, it's just that you need to take it more lightly. Like you don't care if you fail. Because you will suck. It's just that everyday, you'll suck less. And the next day, even less!
A good tip if you find you don't have enough time drawing people in the open before they move: DRAW FAST! Gesture! Dare yourself to draw a person in 30, 20 or 10 pencil strokes. You'll speed up like crazy. Once you get the speed right, it's time to nail down the detail. Not before!
I know because that's what I'm currently practising xP
Nice cougar, btw. Hopefully that wasn't in the train too
It had more to do with the fact that I had a pretty good opportunity to practise life drawing, and ended up drawing people's ears. Overall I just don't have the feeling I got as much from that opportunity as I could or should have. But practise makes perfect.
More life drawing from the train: (Faces this time!)
First try at digital art:
And finally... some fanart. Brownie points for everyone who knows what this is:

Yay! Nice drawings man. Drawing on the train is hard, with all that movement going on. Keep at it )
Also like the apple, very vibrant colours
The monster rings a bell indeed, but I can't quite place it. warcraft maybe? or dune? :/
ooh those apples look nice, and good job on starting live train sketches, I gotta start doing that, the thing I notice about live sketches is a nice characterization that I really like, that seems to exists more compared to drawings from photographs. When I saw the fanart I was thinking Earthworm Jim lol, but that's probably not it. Nice progress
on one of the face there is a big issue with the forehead, look at it
good digital attempt , the colors can be improve, they are too saturate , look for good style life artist on CA have made, and observe the colors, you'll learn a lot
Scrab ahoy :D
Always neat to see someone try their hand at digital apples. I haven't read through your entire sketchbook, but perhaps Bumskee's Digital Painting thread (with apples!) might be of help? Never mind me if that's the exact spot you got your inspiration from :D
Succes met oefenen, trein is er een geweldige plek voor.
Twan: Thanks for pointing out his forehead, I fixed it. You're right about the apples being a bit too saturated too (especially the first one), and I'll put that advice to practise in my next digital drawings.
Nynthe: Brownie points for you! I actually don't travel by train that often, although I found a new spot to practise with life drawing (the school's library and public library).
Thanks a lot for the comments everyone . Right now I'm extremely busy for school and won't be able to upload anything for another week or so, though.
