    Death rides a pale board...

Good Lord it's been awhile since I've posted anything. This is a project I've had in mind for years and finally got around to doing it. Not sure whether I want to try and paint this one or vectorize it like I do most of my artwork.

And yes, I need to fix that right hand, the index finger is wonky. Plus, clean up some lines here and there. Let me know what you guys think.

Now I'm going to have "Behold a Pale Horse" by Hive stuck in my head. XD

Unfortunately I'm not so hot with anatomy, so I can't help you there, but if you really want to communicate that this is "death", I think your character needs some additional symbology attached, or some costuming tweeks to really get your message across. Right now it's just a skeleton riding a skateboard...which is cool, but without the title I wouldn't necessarily associate it "death" with it in the reaper sense.

That's very true, I had toyed with the idea of putting a scythe in the right hand and may try that after all.

Seriously though, he must be Death, he's listening to Lady Gaga on his Nano

Like the look of this; he has a very engaging pose. For death related symbology, how about a picture of a scythe on the bottom of his board? That's some great visual real-estate to put something like that in. That and a black hoodie will do great to convey a Modern Death

Ok, took out the right hand for now, am re-working it holding a scythe that'll be behind him with the blade down and curved back to the right.

Not overly happy with the hoodie as it's hard to show black and keep good highlights. Also need to work on some detail in the skull more.

Fixed the hand, added the scythe and colored it all, I need to work on my light sources next but am going to hold off until I get the other three done and combined into the mural first.

I'm thinking moonlight above and flames of hell below. Will have to work on or reflective light on the blade as well as a better brush for blood splatter...

because blood splatter is just too cool

Love the idea and execution on this! If you do decide to paint it ( Im assuming now that your considering it a colorized version) Id enjoy seeing the finished work.
