    I don't know about album of the decade, but "devotion" by beach house is a brilliant album in my opinion, and really deserves more attention

    This song is probably my favourite;

    Jake, you much of a Deathspell Omega fan?

    By the way, I love that you have Esoteric on there. Esoteric makes the most amazing doom I have ever heard.

    Personally I get a little offended when somebody states their personal taste as fact. Sorta reminds me of MTV's top 100 of all time. Not to go off on a rant but Kurt Cobain is far from the greatest guitar player of all time.
    Ugh... I even put a fucking warning man, read it:

    ^ Bummer indeed... That's how I've stumbled upon most albums. But anyway, I'm almost finished fixing the list and when I repost it I'll add some links.

    Ok, updated and some links added. If you don't like metal then I'd skip DSO, Opeth, Negura Bunget, and motW...

    Very much like ninjacat11 I only started listening to music consciously about 5 years ago. I blame that on my age, but I am so happy that now I can really enjoy my music. I have my favourite artists, I love music videos, at least the good ones , and since two years or so I started buying CDs which is awesome, because I love collecting stuff, and though my music collection isn't as extensive as I would wish, I do own quite a few of my favourite CDs.
    My muscial Tastes encompass for the most part contemporary music. I tend to go to either extreme: Shiny, well produced (!) Pop/Electro-Pop, british and american Rock/Indie-Rock, or american folky sounds and of course full-on Electro.

    Here are some favourites. Love all of them, but the placing can only be seen as a current favourite and surely not given:

    I'm so glad I was able to see her when she FINALLY came to America to tour. Best night of my damn life in Dallas! Seriously.
    Best quality video I can find of her violin solo:

    Universal Hall Pass, including some work by Splashdown (sadly disbanded; record company issues) during the 00s, some of it just a bit earlier. There are two Splashdown albums that have to be downloaded. They have some stuff on iTunes, but you won't get all of their albums there.
    This is Universal Hall Pass:

    There's probably more. Like, the Birthday Massacre, and a few that haven't really come to mind. Those two are my idols though.
