Some thumbnail sketches, these were really fun to do. Might just blow a few of these up to do some proper painting

I think we're both on a rabid painting/drawing binge. These last thumbs of yours are looking great. Are they all different thumbnails for the same concept? The dramatic lighting is reading really well on 1-4 and 9. The biggest crit I can give is that thumbs 5-8 are maybe the weakest. I don't really feel like I know what I'm supposed to be focusing on in any of those and the figure(presumed focal point) in #6 gets a bit lost. It almost looks like just more tree branches or something. Also that image(#6) looks almost like two different color palettes are splitting the image. I suppose that isn't a bad thing if you could pull it off in a final painting. The limited color palettes in all of them look great though. Are you using overlay settings on your brushes or layers to get those glowing effects or are those just air brushes or something? I can't really tell. Anyhow, thanks for continuing to look at my stuff. I really should do more legitimate thumbnails like this.

Damn it, I can't restrain myself from clicking big buttons that says Detonate ^^. Those thumbnails are looking real good!
The lighting gives a great sense of mystery and intrigue, as if you want to jump in and see what's '' in there ''.
    Especially the first one.

Tex- Yeah, I feel like Ive wasted the day away if I dont spend most of it drawing I see what your saying about 5-8. As for the glowing effect, I create a new layer then take an airbrush set to pure white, run it over the area I want to glow. Then I turn down the opacity and erase out the figures I want to stand out from the glow. And yes, you should do more of these because they are so much fun

Mrkolsyrad- I made that especially for you haha And thanks.

I think I'm addicted to doing these

Not even a son of a forest beast can turn up with such great turning
backtracking punches, like you use to do it. The tide is high and it is
totally on your side. Mammoth mud-slashing steps of sudden improvements.
Like a stone carving starving Gladiator, you are effectively heating up the freshly
painted radiator. I fancy those small thumbnail environments a few posts back,
even if they are looking something like overcrowded, too much thing on too
small space. Also I am not sure about the values, going back for some more
greyscale enviro thumb studies would be advisable for all of us, even for the little
camouflaged confused boyscout team. The last blue guy standing in the cave is
looking gorgeous and you are improving with your every post, that is just a fact.
Keep on delivering big funeral caskets, filled with freshly harvested apple baskets.

yuzero- Thanks for the critique, and I totally agree yuzero

Zen-fehr- Around 15 minutes for the thumbs. They are quite fun to do And glad I could inspire

Goremageddon- Ive done some still studies in the past, but all of these are just done by placing a lot of colors on the canvas, then creating shapes with a textured brush to see shapes.

Lt-Thanks for your input Lt, its always a pleasure to read your replies

Flaskpost-Thanks, really like whats going on in yours as well.

    Appylon-Why thank you

Been quite busy the past couple of days, only had time for a couple pages in my moleskin....

The second big kitten (panther?) in your last post looks just great, feels really alive and breathing to me.
Also I like the faces on the left and the character running on the bottom right side of the last moleskine post, really dynamic.

On your last character posting IMO you could work out a bit more of a contrast between the background and the figure, maybe some complementary (slightly used) colors or at least more tonal difference. The background could draw a bit too much attention (to me, I mean I can't talk for other people).

Great work, just go ahead man!

Korzen- Don't put yourself down man, I go back and forth with my own drawings, you just have to remember to apply what you've learned to what you're doing at that moment. Sometimes that means having to redraw something 100 times Although, Ive been doing better at pencil sketching ever since I started drawing in photoshop. heh.

Charmer- Hey man, thanks for visiting, and I totally see what you're saying. Thanks for the critique

Well guys, haven't done much the past couple of days due to me being laid off on Friday At least I have more time for drawing yay But I really need some doe to pay off loans lol

I really like the thumbnail sketches in post 272 and 275. The 3rd one down on post 275 has really nice color. I think it would make a nice illustration
