p sage- Thank you, not sure if its the right one to use yet
KyTran- Thank you, might have to do one based on that thumbnail
Did some more silos, these are for this weeks CHOW as well...
Wow so many interesting stuff since my last visit
Oh man you have been busy! good work.Nice chow stuff to. The (characters ) right arm resting on his leg , shoulder plates might be a bit small compared to the arm. helps drawing the arm underneath it first to see if it fits under the plates . problem I seam to do myself often to that's my only crit. digging the silos.
Micheal D-Dude, thanks so much for that, I didn't even notice it Definitely need to step back once and while from the screen lol. It might help out if I worked on multiple pieces at the same time. Anyways thanks for stopping by in here, it is much appreciated
The last character is going in the right direction, I like the way you’ve set up
the thumbs first and then you nailed this big one, right on the temple. I
don’t have really what to crit, the head is maybe a bit tight in that helmet,
but I didn’t came here to nitpick, the real reason I visited is to wish
you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! All the best mate.
Lt- Thank you for the wishes, Im gonna need them Hope you will have twice the merriment
Starting my entrance portfolio,"finally" lol. These silos are for a few characters within the story. The story is combination of few fairy tales and some inspiration from one of my favorite television shows. Will post the story once Ive figured out the details. If you can't tell from the silos, there's going to be an archerXD.
sharkz r fun
Out of curiousity, what are your goals with these environments? Are you trying to get faster, practice speed painting, enlarge and block in thumbnails to refine later? Something else? I've found assessing my weaknesses and really doing work that forces me to confront those issues head aids progress better than anything else. Oh and are you using an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio for these last paintings? I love those super wide landscape orientations. They remind me so much of old epic movies plus there is so much space to play around with.
Tex- Hey man, these last few were just to break the monotony of doing design silhouettes for my portfolio But they were also speedies, because I wanted to get back to the silos. As for the screen aspect ratio, I just wanted to try something different, you get tired of painting on the same sized canvas all of the time
Trying some B&W speedies, about 5 to 10 mins each. Just trying to achieve some atmosphere and have a clear fore, mid and background. These are really fun to do, will be doing more of these.
damn man!! your doing great! love all those silhouettes! really interesting shapes and designs, you should keep going, but develop some of the ones you have up to a more finished level. I can see so many possibilities in these already! keep going man! your on fire~
Hello there! I really like your speed, hah! It is impressive for me, I often get hung up on the details
Sorry for my bad English
not gonna lie those marker silhouettes look baller
Nicky- thanks man, really appreciate the support, and will do with polishing some of these silhouettes
Parapauler- Thanks, I have the same problem though with getting caught up in details too early The important thing is to have fun, I mean, I used to get so frustrated when doing any kind of drawing and painting. Mainly because my work was so far behind others that inspired me. Finally I made the decision to just have fun with it, and only compare my current work with my previous work, now I don't get frustrated much at all. Thanks again
Azsha-Why thank you
Chose a silhouette and tried some costuming, messing with patterns, and through these I realized that there is an infinite realm of design possibilities for each and every character. Which is effin AWESOME!!!!!
These are really interesting to do, the silhouette can be interpreted in a few different ways. Each one can either be the front, back, or side and whats even cooler is that doing these silos is a much faster way to getting a well rounded character design. I can't wait to see where these take me Last post for tonight
that's some awesome concepting man! really pushing the limits on these! I love it! yea man, do a few more sheets like this, then choose on and really push it to a finish! this is perfect portfolio stuff dude!
Here are some preliminary sketches for the main protagonists of the story. Had to get these out of my head before they became lost in there lol The names will probably give away the game I've decided to redesign for my portfolio. Early 90's snes rpg made by squaresoft
