Thought Id redo this introduction Here goes nothingXD
My name is Eric, I'm 25 atm, and I'm trying to improve my skills so I can one day (hopefully soon) attend ACCD for entertainment design. I have worked hard the past few months studying fundamentals and I think its about time I start working on my entrance portfolio. So get ready for a lot of studies and eventually a portfolio piece or two or three or twenty five Any critiques and or comments will be greatly appreciated and hopefully processed through my dumb head 0_____o
New work on last page!
Wow, the stuff on these first pages are awful, please go to the last page.
I have made this here sketchbook for a few reasons. Those reasons are to show my sketches and studies, and receive some old-fashioned C&C in order to progress forward towards my dream of becoming a professional concept artist. I am counting on all of you to help push me towards that dream. I will try to update as much as I can.
I'll use this first post to show updates

Well, I had the idea that I would learn light and color theory faster if I would do studies from the awesome artists who work in the film industry, so here are some studies from film stills. These were done yesterday.
First is study of a still from The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
Second is a study from a still from Braveheart.
Third is a study from a still from the movie District 9.
Fourth is a study from a photo by NikxStock.deviantART.com

Hey ! Thanks for dropping by my sb
Good stuff i see on ur sb, good keen eye on observation
now to push urself technically even further, do more blending, and keep the form in shape, do lesser soft brush on the edge. stuff like that , just push urself even more on the learning curve
The only real failure is the failure to try
Thx Zorcron, I'll try and post some soon.
Thx Umpa, portraits are fun to do.
Thx for the solid critzalxemptyx.
Thx Twan, I will give it a shot
Here's a sketch from this morning, about two hours so far.

Excellent work. Only crit I can kinda give you is: even though you have a great sense of color, try pushing yourself by using some more interesting or exotic color palettes. Keep it up you da man. I'll go do some studies in this spirit myself now.
definitely some good stuff going on. you should work from life more, though. your photo and still shot studies are much more solid and well realized than the stuff from life. much like working in pencil/paint is better for pushing your skill set than working digitally, working from life will always make your still studies stronger, while the opposite is not necessarily true.
keep at it!
Thx Umpa, you know what I mean lol, it was just something to get in the painting mood, not to mention warm up my hands since it's so cold in here
Here be a WIP. About 3 hours so far... still has a long way to go.
Please rip apart with your criticism

sketchbook updated October 6th
You environment is a little confusing...I hope you dont mind that I drew over your painting, just wanted to illustrate some of the perspective issues going on. Hope this helps!
WICKED concept dude 2 quick crits man
the horizon line looks a little high for the perspective you have got for the passage leading us further away
and green can either be a warm or cool color as far as light goes right now its a blue green light so just remember that since right now those are the only light sources the shadows are going to be a warm color "temperature wise "
(tell me if that doesnt make sense im pretty tired right now)
waiting patiently to see it further along, keep it coming mate !
:::: i wrote this all before seeing the above poster heh anyways thanks for dropping by my SB

Hello palladium, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! I am probably not in the position to give you critiques, but your studies are looking good. Keep it up!
Woo great studies! I'm amazed how much color you can get into those. Perhaps taking some of that variation and applying it to the WIP? I don't know much about perspective/color-theory, but the painting is kinda monotone right now. Mix it up!
Also, remember to work on other stuff! Your color studies look great, and it seems like you're focusing on environments, but characters are also important.
