And sorry I left the chat earlier, but one of my best friends Dad (Who's one of my dads best mates) hit a hard note in his struggle with cancer last nigh, and so we've been running around just trying to make out what happened. So I'm sorry if I'm a little useless today.

Take care peeps, and thanks for support Raoul Duke and B-Man!

Right, I'm just going to think aloud for a second here, feel free to disregard, ignore, or just pretend this never happened

I was thinking if there was a way of really upping the team-work and collaboration to a new level. Like really working together to create a special piece of art.

Also a way of keeping styles and such really together for the final image.
So maybe we can work out an assembly line of sort..
We all create our own characters/cards, get the poses, composition and imagery, and them someone (I could even do it) redraws them all in a coherent style, just in line.

From there we can spilt up everything from colour, details, and final composite.

Just an idea, but that way everyone gets to work on all the images, and the outcome could be quick cool

i dig the cups hahha wicked" an as fer yer out loud think'n i think is a good idea but i think for all of us to really learn we have to learn to adapt i think if we did a few things like all made solid line werk an then add value an color an texture or at least all used a similar process we could get pleasing results

hey Matt sorry to hear about the personal strife going on right now, hope everything turns out alright.

Awesome update fellas, and great teamwork on that king of cups sketch! Haha I was thinking the same exact thing Matt, especially on the last chow to get that unity but was a bit timid about bringing that up. I can go either way, i'm cool with whatever so if people want to streamline or just work like the way we did last time i'm cool either way.

Thanks again for the support Raoul Duke and the cragee B-Man!!

Some moaar sketches, lol the first one is a bit too funny looking when i look at cuz of the 'fist of northstar muscles' on it hahaha, but that one i had in mind was a sketch for the fool trying to get some kind of arrogance going on and the other 2 are just sketches for ace of wand, not really liking any of these last few so back to drawing board, hehe!

woot. power only went out twice so far hahah

here's my first sketch for ace of pent:

    my thinking----
ace of pent. is the "foundation" for success, whether it be material or spiritual gain. It is not a promise of security, but a solid foundation to start on and infers that you must put forth the hard work to harvest the results you desire.

pentacles are usually shown as coins. so i decided to do the ace as a harvester of pentacle trees--just like money trees (yes, they are real lol, they are really beautiful plants and they grow all around my backyard.)
on really fertile soil, with a woman appears strong and solid like that "foundation".

anyway...just throwing it out there. here goes.

Team CHOW III: TEAM Chönyid bardo!

i did a couple of thumbs but they didn't fit the regular rules of CHOW.

    bbl.

    edit:
    a quick sketch for temperance.
temperance is the signal to accept moderation and balance---to not strive for 100% optimism, but to accept things as they are and let life take you wherever.
it also shows internal power and the maturity of spirit --ready to heal and grow and move on and start again--with new attitude and life.
    to appreciate "twilight and dawn".

temperance can be androgynous--often shown with red wings for initiative and white for purity. pouring from one cup to another.

my plan is to make his one wing shadow his face, and his other wing open, a balance of protection and opening up to new things. one glass is broken to ensure that it continues to receive but release as well.

i was playing around with the twilight and dawn phrase but i might ditch that anyway. so ignore the purple/orange colors.

Team CHOW III: TEAM Chönyid bardo!

woh dig the updates! really digging the characters you've started to color in Granny, like is said before I think that sword is soo bad ass!!

great sketches hala, i think the idea for the first one is great, money tree ingenious! It could be a cool idea to play off that money tree and make all viney and shiet that like harness the character, not sure just an idea to make it more fantasy or something!

Some more roughs, starting to like the first comp for 4 of swords getting closer to the idea of what i was thinking. haha the second one is just too funny, it's not character i plan on using just put a stoopid character in there for composition, basically trying to go for the character finding his way with his lit wand (for ace of wands) through cavernous cavern. oh also this was a sketch i started for ace of pent as extra but i had no idea what it was, and then read the description and it was soo off haha (good thing your money tree idea is money muhahhaha)...

Fucking Ace work around!! (and I'm a man/boy thing by the way)

My favs have to be Mikes Ace of Wands, Grannys princess, and Halas temperance is going awesome! And that Ace pentacles could really be something special too!!!! I'd say go Dan Brown on there ass and have hidden symbols everywhere... if there's a sun or a moon... throw a pentacle in there!

And mike, do u mind if I have a go at the 4 of swords, I just want to play around with somthing? Cheers

Matt i'm terribly sorry about that : (

MATT: awesome awesome, i really love the personality you're getting across in your sketches, i can't wait to see what you bust out for finals

granny: death is coming along nice and i like how you're incorporating the 13 ribs and everything

mikey: awesome awesome awesome color studies-- what is your plan though for making your pictures mucha-esque? are you going to render first and draw line work on top? i'm just curious

raoul: hahah this team hasn't even gotten started yet we'll be truly pouncing in no time! lol and thanks for stopping by

granny: yea i'm gonna incorporate those elements still trying to settle on a design or comp or everything haha but thanks definitely will add those elements!

hala: yea i'm gonna print out rough sketch and redraw it in pencil like what matt's doing then pic it into ps or maybe just do the color wash with water colors and then tweak with photoshop for the mucha style just haven't decided still on a sketch or solid idea of what i'm doing hehe

some mindless brain fart sketches that might not apply but post anyways since they character, sketchpooped during lunch today, actually the second one isn't really for the ace of pent but i was just wondering cuz it seems a bit too free for all at this point, like it would help i think for us to decide on some kind of genre, like steampunk, medieval, starship troopa's, mario party, watever anything to kind of incorporate some kind of familiar design element with all of our charcters.

One i had in mind was to portray each character in the age timeline they represent along with the genre, that's the impression i get when reading tarot card description almost like a coming of age in a way, for example the fool i like the description where it's almost like you're born into the world and don't know any better, youthful and jumping in head first with the blissful ignorance it portrays all the way down the timeline to granny's character death. Might be a good way to portray each of our characters. What'ya all thinkin?

Matt if you want u can take 4 of swords and i don't mind doing the fool, actually had cool composition in mind for that one, so if you wanted 4 of swords i'm cool with doing fool and ace of wands?

    thanks raoul dukeez!

for example the fool i like the description where it's almost like you're born into the world and don't know any better, youthful and jumping in head first with the blissful ignorance it portrays all the way down the timeline to granny's character death. Might be a good way to portray each of our characters. What'ya all thinkin?
Holy shit, so weird man, was just thinking the same thing. Haven't been at home much today, but drew this quickly at a friends place (over some printout... hopefully she didn't need it).
I was thinking of a younger fool too. And I've seen mentioned that the fool also represents gambling and drinking, and misspent youth.

And I'm completely cool with doing any card really. the 4ofSwords and fool have just sparked recent ideas that's all, but do please do any.

But as I can't really decide on any cards in particular, I think I'll just dive in a render some out in pencil if thats cool with everyone? But still feel free to say if I'm steeping on anyone's feet or anything.

Anyway the art, Snoochy- loving the colours in post #55, real nice (lol, every time I look at it now I see Micky Mouse though haha)
And same with the last two, really nice mood

    Take care guys n' gal,
