    What did you get for Christmas?

    What did you get for Christmas 2009? I know that most of you probably haven't opened your presents yet, but my family did just a few hours ago, so feel free to post your list when you do open your presents. I'm going to be getting more on Christmas (from my mother's side of the family) and the day after Christmas (from my father's side of the family, during which I will leave the country and visit my uncle, who lives in the relatively small landlocked nation of Jonathanland). Well here is what I got from my immediate family:

    * A 24 pack of Jack Links Lil' Chubs.

    * 4 Energizer Max double A batteries.

    * Soul Calibur IV for the Xbox 360.

    * Dead Space for the Xbox 360.

    * A new Xbox 360 controller.

    * A 12 month Xbox Live Gold membership card.

    * An American Eagle hoody.

    * A 4 pack of bottled Boylan black cherry sodas.

    * A pair of St. John's Bay slippers.

    * About 40 Twix candy bars.

    * A $5 Blockbuster gift card.

    * A $15 Blockbuster gift card.

    * A Christmas card that my brother made for me himself.

    * A Hershey's Skor candy bar (I never even heard of "Skor" before).

    * A See's Awesome Nut & Chew Bar candy bar (also never heard of this before).

    * Spicy sweet buffalo flavored cashews.

    * Some sort of Caramel sucker thing.

    Out of curiosity, how do you all do xmas? Like in my family everyone writes a wish list and we pass it out to all the family members and you buy stuff off the list.

    Unless we know of something specifically that another person wants or needs, we take the money we would spend on presents and donate it to charity.

    I got a book, my mom patched some old pants of mine (and then wrapped them as a gift--what a joker), and a huge bag of trail mix.

    The best present was a Bogus Sketchbook with brown toned paper (not crappy newprint). I've been looking for so long for a sketchbook with a nice midtone, but I didn't even bother asking for one this christmas...they just remembered. Awesome.

    Since we don't have little children in the family anymore the tradition of making presents has kinda fallen out of fashion. I guess I could say I got new gloves from my mother, but I needed them anyway. And my beau made me a gingerbread house .

    Welll, it's been a rough year. So my family and I decided on no gifts this year. We're getting together for some dinner later on today.

    i got a ring.

    And a little stuffed tiger, since my Chinese Zodiac animal is Tiger... and since next year is the Year of the Tiger.

    My students made christmas cards for me, that was cool.

    And... Um.... I fried some cheese burgers for Christmas dinner. That was a little gift to myself since good tasting cheese is a bit expensive here.

    Reading this thread makes me feel lucky about getting a good present. My birthday is a few days after Christmas, so my mother got me a Rotring A3 technical drawing board.

    I got the "Prehistory of the Far Side." It's amazing, it has tons of commentary by Gary Larson explaining how he came up with some of his cartoons and it has lots of ones that were rejected by his editors and stuff. good stuff.
